Sleeping soundly, deep in the woods, lived a small pack of wolves. These weren't any type of wolves though. These wolves lived in carved out houses of the trees, ears and tails of a wolf but otherwise, quite human. That's how most animals were here in the land of Shiganshia.

And, it was on this beautiful morning, that a small little rabbit named Eren Jaeger attacked one of the slumbering wolves.

"LEVI!" He shouted, voice twinkling like bells and light as a feather as he jumped atop the big bad wolf. The bed creaked as Eren jumped onto Levi, bouncing the bed as he jumped again and again. But still there beast did not stirr.

"Levi! WAKE UP! I wanna go outside!" Eren whined as his ears dropped, his small little hands pounding on the wolf's muscular side through the blankets.

"Eren," Levi huffed suddenly as Eren continued to hit him, his fist doing little to no damage. "Shut up. Go back to sleep."

"No! Outside! Outside! OutSIDE!"

"Eren." Levi growled this time as he shifted, head turning to face Eren as he opened one lazy eye and glared at the little rabbit. "Do you want to be eaten?"

"N-no!" The younger yelped, shivering under the wolf's gaze.

"Then shut up and go back to sleep. Or Erwin will try to eat you again." Levi said gruffly, turning around so his back faced Eren. The little rabbit sniffed gently, small tears pricking his bright, golden eyes.

Then high pitched hiccuping noises came from behind Levi as he tried to sleep. Eren was sobbing, his cries growing louder and louder and suddenly he was back to hitting at the wolf's back.

"OUTSIDE OUTSIDE OUTSIDE OUTSIDE!!!"

"Eren- please, shut up!" Levi snapped, flipping around, the corners of the blanket in his hands as he wrapped Eren up in them, trying to silence the little brat but his scream were loud for a little rabbit.

"OUTSIIDDEEEE!"

Off further in the small gathering of carved out trees, a blonde wolf was just preparing for his early morning snack of chicken when he heard the rabbit's squeals and demands for outside. His eyebrows rose and he licked his lips with a wolfish grin.

Then Hanji heard as well, just shaking her head and returning to her book. She liked Levi and didn't want to bother him and his little pet. Of course... Erwin...

"Rabbit!" His stomach grumbled though, cutting him off from racing out of his home and hunting down the little beast. Sighing, he turned about til he spotted the children again, it still alive and sitting atop a plate filled with lettuce.

Once he finished it he ran off quickly to the house of Levi, smelling the rabbit's fear pheromones from miles away.

"OUTSIDE! OUTSIDE! OUTSIDE!"

"EREN-"

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Morning Levi!!!"

The raven haired wolf growled, sitting up from where he had been crouching above Eren, trying to smother his cries by holding him to his chest but alas that was of no use. As he rose from the bed, small Eren yelped and hid under the covers, his little puffball of a tail shaking from where it poked out.

"Go away Shitwin!" He growled, opening the door by a crack, the chain on the door keeping it from opening all the way.

"But I just wanted to say hi to little Eren! He hasn't seen Uncle Erwin in so long-"

"And for good reason too!" Levi snapped, glaring at Erwin still. "Now go away! I won't let you eat him!"

Erwin gave the other wolf a look of mock betrayal.

"Come now! I've changed my ways, Levi! Honest!' he crossed his heart and raised a hand, only to hide the hand with crossed fingers behind his back.

Levi gave him scrutinising look, opening the door a little wider as he sniffed the air.

"What did you eat this morning?'

The blonde wracked his brain for a second, thinking of what was on the plate beside chicken.

"Uh- uh-... LETTUCE!"

Levi just shook his head, his face going back to his death glare.

"Liar." The door slammed shut and Erwin was back to banging in the door, claws scratching at it like... Well...

A wild animal.

"PLEASE LEVI! JUST ONE LITTLE TASTE?"

The loud banging continued, Levi sighing and walking back to his and Eren's room. Eren was still under the blankets shaking as Levi lifted the blankets and sat beneath it, making a little tent with his body as he sat with Eren right in front of him.

"See why you can't go out? I don't want you getting eaten." He told the little rabbit as Eren nodded, wiping away his tears and crawling into the wolf's lap.

"I-i'm sorry..."

"Tch, brat." Levi sighed again, holding Eren close and kissing his head. "Don't worry. I'll protect you. As long as I'm here you have nothing to worry about."

Eren nodded and nuzzled his head agaisnt Levi's neck, his ears gentle and rubbing against the wolf's chin.

"I love you, Levi!" He whispered, the banging having gone away and now the two of them being greeted with silence.

"I love you too, brat." Levi said with a soft smile. The first one he had made all day. "Now let's head back to bed."

Eren giggled.

"Night night!"

"Night, Eren." Levi murmured.

And with that the little rabbit and big bad wolf cuddled up beneath covers, and fell asleep, the sun rising higher and higher, off in the distance.

Levi, thinking of what would happen once he couldn't take care of his little rabbit anymore...

"As long as I'm here." He whispered one last time, kissing Eren's cheek and holding him closer.
