A Winter's Ball (Riren)

Eren looks from his glass in hand to the young man across the room from him.

Levi Ackerman.

A bastard.

An orphan.

But he was the right hand man of General Smith and known by all. He was speaking to a lady his age, his eyes lazily half shut as he chuckles, his voice lost across the midst of people. Eren fiddles with his gloves and shuts his eyes tightly. Eren feels his heart pound heavily. And then...

His cool grey eyes rise to look into Eren's from the other side of the ballroom. His heart seems to implode. BOOM! Jaeger is helpless.

He watches as Levi turns again to speak with the lady at his side. The two whisper and Eren feels his heart flop suddenly. But his hopes are fixed as soon as he sees Levi look back to him. His lips turning upward as he winks at the brunette.

And suddenly Eren is helpless again. He raises a hand to his chest and feels his heart flutter. Stepping backwards he run to his sister. "Hey yo," He says with a grin, his confidence growing by the second. Slinging an arm around his sister, he gestures to the war hero and says,"This one's mine~" Mikasa turns to look between him and Levi. Her eyes gloss over, but then a smile paints her lips.

Tucking her red scarf carefully, she lifts her skirts and moves through the crowd. The band seems to grow louder as Eren flusters. Mikasa is so popular with the men... He fears she'll steal him away. "Oh sis what'cha gonna do?" He murmurs nervously.

He looks over the heads of the many noblemen and women and rebels to see Mikasa side up to Levi. She says something quietly and Eren watches as Levi laughs and his eyes crinkle slightly as he does. Oh god. Eren is helpless.

He worries even more, feeling his heart ache as they talk and suddenly- Levi turns and smiles at Eren from across the room. He waves and Eren feels his heart once more go BOOM! Mikasa leads him over and introduces the two. Eren blushes and bows. "Thank you for all your service." He stammers, adverting his gaze as Levi watches him. "If meeting you mean fighting a war," He starts with a grin.

"It will have been worth it."

Mikasa smiles softly. "I'll leave you to it~" Eren blushes again, feeling Levi rest a hand on his waist as she walks away. "Care for a dance?" He asks, his eyes sparking playfully. What a flirt... Eren nods and feel his heart rate speed up again.

Oh, I am so into you. His face grows red and be allows Levi to pull him closer as the song slows down. "May I write to you?" Eren smiles, hoping he thinks what he means by this. "Yes, you may." The two smile and dance the night away.

With that... A courtship blooms.
