An: two updates in one day???

It was late and the two men who lied side by side were fast asleep. Breathing soft on both ends and nothing but blissful rest filled the bed. The two lover lied close, hands brushing now an then but it was enough. Though things were never fully... Peaceful.

Silence was inevitably broken.

"EREN!" Eren Jaeger bolted straight from bed to find his beloved Heichou shaking, his eyes wide and his entire being scared.

His body was drenched in a cold sweat and Eren knew exactly what had happened. "Levi, Levi listen to me." the teen murmured into his lover's ear as he held him close to his chest.

"Eren..." Levi choked out from behind his sobs. Before, Eren had never known this side of his Corporal, but... Ever since the two and accepted their blasphemous feelings for each other, Eren had learned about the darker side of his usually so strong Captain. The side he kept so well hidden. The one that feared and felt. The side that regrets so much. "It's fine. Everything's going to be just fine. Trust in me." Eren whispered to Levi as he kissed behind the raven's ear. Gently moving his hand up and down his side as he pulled him closer. Levi's irregular breathing now slowing.

"Eren..." He whispered almost blindly. Like he hadn't heard Eren at all. The way he said Eren'e name made the teen realise how weak his Captain really was. "Yes?"

He felt the Levi's hand grasp his shirt tightly, pulling him ever closer. "Am... Am I a good person?" Eren blinked slowly. "Why are you asking such a foolish question love?" The teen wondered aloud, feeling his Captain shiver against him like a fever had swallowed him. Then the warm tears slid across his shirt. "Levi, no no, baby I didn't mean anything bad by it!" The teen exclaimed, realising his error far too late. The Corporal's tears continued to fall and his sobs became even more broken. So broken that it tore Eren's heart.

"Shh, shh." the cadet whispered as he tried easing the older man's sorrows. "Eren! I'm serious!" And his heart shattered. Levi's voice had cracked as he held tight to his shirt, sobbing into his chest.

"Am I a good person? Am I a horrible monster that only knows how to kill? If we finally kill all the Titans what will happen? Will one of us die? Will you still love me? Will we even be allowed together? What if I'm executed for loving a minor- "

Executed.

The word stung harder than any hit. Than any kick. Deeper than any whip or knife could cut. It left his heart a mess of scars, leaving Eren to wish he had been born years earlier.

"Don't you dare talk like that!" Eren snapped suddenly. Levi didn't flinch, used to Eren's spouts of anger. He regretted so much, that boy. He regretted every life he couldn't save and that left him with an inextinguishable fire. A thirst for titan blood.

"I love you so much Levi. Neither of us is going to die! I won't allow it!" Levi's eyes flashed when he said the word love and Eren knew he had hit a sensitive topic. He knew the raven haired man beside him loved him, but Eren never heard him say it. But he always believed it had something to do with his past... With how everyone he cared for always died.

"You can't promise such a thing!" Levi snapped back, jerking away from the teen. Eren paused and blinked back his anger.

Before him, a broken down man who had lived twice longer than Eren. Behind him, a past full of hate and anger. Of destruction and anguish. And what was past that? He didn't know. And he couldn't promise everything will be alright.

"Look, I'm Humanity's Hope right?" Eren asked calmly, slowly pulling Levi back into his arms. He felt a faint nod and smiled a sad smile. "And you can't trust anything in this world. But I'm this world's hope so if you must trust in something-" He said, moving a thumb under his lover's eye.

"Trust in me."

"Brat..." Levi murmured with a hint of morbid amusement in his voice as he gave a soft laugh. "Stealing my words."

"I can't promise everything will work out. But I can promise I'll fight for you. For us. And that I'll always love you. Can you do the same for me?"

"Always, Eren," The now tired Captain said as he brushed his lips to Eren in a silent thank you. "I told you to make a choice with no regrets did I not?" the teen nodded, the two of them lying down to rest finally as Levi spoke.

"I don't regret this. Not one bit."

"Neither do I, Levi."

Once more lips touched lips.

"I promise to stay by your side for as long as time allows." The raven murmured softly, pulling himself closer to Eren, their lips only millimeters apart as their breaths intermingled. They didn't kiss but just lied there. Close as the world would allow them.

"I promise to be yours. And that only in hopes of you being mine." Eren replied, resting his leg between Levi's as they tangled themselves together sleepily.

"Eren..." Levi whispered as he felt his eyes grow heavy. The monsters in his head having crawled back from whatever cesspool they festered in. "Yes, love?"

"Hold me. For as long as you can. I don't want to have anymore nightmares tonight."

Eren kissed the other's forehead and held him even tighter, his hands warming every inch of Levi. "I love you." The teen murmured. Levi hummed quietly, not replying as he kissed Eren's collar bone. His body curling into the other's strong hold as he drifted into sleep.

"I promise, when all this is over... I'll love you still Levi. Even if you won't say it back..."
