Eren's POV

"M-mama..."

"I'm sorry Eren... I'm so, so sorry."

I watched as Mama backed away, brown hair swaying in its usual side ponytail as she bowed her head. Papa walked forward then and I flinched. Why did Papa not love me, I wondered as I eyed the belt in his hand.

"I'm sorry Papa... I-i love you. I'll be a good boy... I p-promise..."

The crack of the belt sent me skittering to the floor without even touching me. Papa growled and I felt the same shiver run up my spine as it had so many times before.

"Stand up... I said... Stand UP."

Whimpers pushed their way past my pursed lips, but I stood all the same. My fists at my side, clenched, I shut my eyes tight and awaited my supposed punishment.

A pause and silence.

"...Eren~"

Rubbing my eyes, I awoke to find a rather familiar brunette rubbing her nose agaisnt my cheek, making soft cooing noises to rouse me. I rolled my eyes but nuzzled back agaisnt her.

"Mornin' Mama." I hummed, Mama smiling at me warmly and kissing my forehead.

"Wakey wakey eggs and bakey." She sung, causing me to laugh and smile up at her.

I loved my mother and I didn't care if that made me a Mama's boy. She was the only one who was with me during... All the times before. Even if she didn't do anything to stop him or fight back she'd always take care of me after.

She was also the only person I talked to, day in and day out.

"You're a dork."

"I'm a Mama Dork to a Baby Dork." She joked back.

After ruffling my hair and mentioning how big I was getting she told me to hurry up and get downstairs. I nodded quick, throwing my covers off and catching up so I could follow up behind her. Entering the kitchen, I looked at the giant plates of food. But then I felt my heart droop. There was only two. And Ma didn't say if dad had left for work or-
