[A/N: Alright guys, this is it. All the big reveals and "where are they now"s. One last party scene to send em off! I'm not emotional or anything.]
Yoongi had to park the car in a ritzy parking garage a couple of blocks from the venue as it was in the famous, heavily crowded "Wedding City" area of Seoul. Jungkook stared out in wonder at the glamorous people coming and going and then gave himself a dissatisfied glance-over in the mirror, no doubt recalling his humble upbringing. It was also a hell of a place to be minutes after release from Juvie. It was a look I was accustomed to by now, as I still occasionally noticed it in Yoongi's eyes. Hell, even I felt awkward at times, having been raised in a pretty middle class lifestyle, but there was something more than self-deprecating when I watched the boys do it that broke my heart a little every time.
"You look great Jungkook," I tried. He perked up a little but couldn't hold up a smile.
"Best suit my dad could find, but it still seems pretty out of place here." He replied. "I don't know...I feel like I wouldn't have known the code of conduct anyway, but I'm extra worried I'll do something embarrassing without thinking while operating on Juvie rules. Like this morning I had to beat a kid up for stealing my roommate's cigarettes. There's still some cuts on my hands. And now I'm going to a model and actress' wedding in Gangnam." He sighed heavily and Yoongi chuckled.
"Don't forget that model and actress are your friends, Jungkook, and they came from the same place as you. They purposefully didn't invite their fancy new friends to this and kept it exclusive so we'd all be comfortable. It's a time for the people they're closest to to celebrate. Besides have you seen yourself, stud? Girls in this area would mob you in a potato sack. Now you just got that rugged edge to you. It'll only make you more popular I promise. Lifetime of experience. You think I was gettin' chicks when I was a rich competitive pianist? Nah, but once I became homeless and depressed, making ends meet with underground fighting?" He whistled and we all chuckled a little darkly.
Next thing we knew were talking the shiny elevator up to the fifteenth floor and stepping out on the glossy tile that reflected warm yellow orbs of light from the dazzling chandeliers up above. I'm sure Eunji chose such a dramatic venue, if Jin had had his way they would've had the ceremony in a kitchen where all catering was courtesy of himself.
A screeching called my name at such a pitch as I'd only ever known one person to be capable of, and whirled around to see none other than my very best friend barreling toward me in the highest of heels. Soomin would be proud.
"Eunji!" I yelled, squeezing her tightly.
"Is that. a fucking. wedding ring. ON YOUR FINGER?" She screamed. I nodded joyfully and she did some kind of odd dance while thrashing my arm around. "Come on, into the dining area, NOW!" She insisted, dragging me without hesitation. "Oh, and hi boys!" She called half-heartedly to the others as she led us in. When we entered the large room we quickly noticed Seokjin chatting with several people across the room at a table that could only have been meant for us. And wow, man, if he'd been a beauty in poverty, access to the world's best skincare, makeup artists, and hairstylists had done him well. His hair always made me insecure about my own, honestly. The same was of course true of Eunji, who since becoming a rising star actress had glowed the hell up.
Beckoning us over, we finally got our view of Namjoon, whose nice new suit showed his up-and-coming status in the world as well, followed by a beautiful dark-skinned girl who introduced herself as Claudia, his girlfriend. We all oohed and awed at that of course. Next up was the ever-smiley Taehyung, holding their precious, mass-adored toddler Nayoung, who was just too beautiful for any child in the world to be.
"Hyung!" He called, pulling Yoongi into a half-hug. When he saw Jungkook, however, he was so incredibly shook that he handed off the baby to Namjoon (a terrible decision, Claudia immediately confiscated the child before it could be broken). Taehyung's eyes glazed over in tears as he pulled the younger boy into a tight embrace. Due to his regular weekday schedule at the daycare, only having weekends off when the juvie had no visiting hours, he hadn't been able to visit Jungkook in person once. It was only through letters and occasionally sneaking away to make calls he had been in contact with his favorite trouble-making little prodigee. Now, for the first time, he was seeing him all grown up. The two shared such an emotional embrace, everyone in the room was frozen in silence, on the verge of becoming a sobbing messes...that is, of course, until Soomin, possibly already drunk, wandered into the room from a bathroom break, in typical Soomin fashion.
