We're sitting at the table in the cafeteria, I can't believe that Virgil likes me or that he's being abused by his dad. I'll tell Virgil I know after we get him and his sister out of that house.

"So, who's the guy you like?" Virgil asks. The others stop their conversations and turn their attention to me.

"Em likes someone?" Oliver asks.

"Yeah. She told me out in the hall" V says.

"Who is it?" Jackson asks.

"It's a secret" I say.

"C'mon please!" Nic begs.

"Fine but all of you have to tell if you like someone and who it is" I say. I already know Virgil and whoever took his phone won't say.

"Nic and I like each other" Ty says.

"Correction, you like me" Nic says.

"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that"

"I will cus it's the reality, hon"

"Whatever. At least I don't steal your hoodies"

"You're the reason all of my hoodies are disappearing?!" Ty asks.

"Yeah.....most of them are in my closet" she chuckles awkwardly.

"Where's the rest?" he asks.

"In a secret place in case you found the ones in the closet"

"Can I have them back?"

"Nope" she smiles.

"Why?" he whines.

"Guys, can we back on the topic at hand?" Nathan asks.

"Oh, right. I don't like anyone" Nicole says.

"Neither do I" Mateo says.

"Ramona is pretty hot" Oliver shrugs.

"Valerie and I are going on a date next week" Nathan says.

"You like anyone, Jackson?" Oli asks.

"Um...yeah. I've been dating someone for a little over a year" Jackson says nervously. HE'S GONNA TELL THEM!

"Seriously?! You have been hiding someone from us for that long? Why and what's her name?" Tyler asks. The others say something along the lines of that as well.

"Um well...uh.....his name is Kevin.....um I've been hiding him from you guys because he's a......dude" Jackson says looking down and playing with his fingers.

"Wait, Kevin your best friend Kevin?" Tyler asks.

"Yeah"

"When do we get to meet him?" Nathan asks.

"I don't know"

"Are we the first to know?" Nic asks.

"Nope, I am. I walked in on them making out a few weeks ago. It was so funny, they almost gave each other a concussion" I say.

"How did they almost get a concussion?" Virgil asks.

"When I walked in they hit their heads together"

"Oh"

"Is he here today?" Nic asks.

"Yeah. Why?" Jackson asks.

"You should bring him over here"

"Why?"

"So we can meet him"

"Oh. I don't know if he'd want to"

"Please, Jackie?"

"No"

"Em, help me" Nic begs

"I already met him like 2 years ago" I say.

"Fine, I'll go get him" Jackson sighs and leaves the table. A few minutes later he comes back with Kevin.

"Guys, this is Kevin. Kevin, this is Nicole, Isaac, Virgil, Mateo, Oliver, and Nathan" Jackson says.

"Hey" Kevin says, giving an awkward wave.

"Hi, Kevin. It's so nice to finally meet you" Nicole says.

"You just found out about him like 5 minutes ago" Jackson says.

"Don't ruin my mom moment" She glares.

"You're not my mom"

"Don't talk back to me young man" Nic scolds. The bell rings a few seconds later and we go to class.

I'm in art class which I have with Isaac and Virgil.

"Hey, Virgil. Here's your phone. You left it at Nathan's place last night" Isaac says.

"Thanks man" V says. I look up at them. Isaac is the one that was texting me last night?

"You ok, Em?" Isaac asks.

"Yeah. I was just wondering...what is a person called when they pretend to be someone else to talk to a person through text or something?" I ask.

"Probably catfish or something. Why?" V asks.

"I think I know someone like that"

"Like who?" Isaac says.

"I don't know. Hey, Issac, can I talk to you in private?" I ask.

"Sure" he shrugs. I lead him over to the drying rack since nobody's over here.

"I know it was you" I say.

"What?" he asks.

"I know it was you who was texting me on Virgil's phone"

"You know the guy is Virgil?"

"Yeah. Why did you pretend to be him?"

"I don't know. How did you know it was me?"

"Last night, you didn't answer the way he would have and then you gave V his phone"

"Oh. Does V know you know?"

"No. Tell me the truth, why did you pretend to be Virgil?"

"I wanted to talk to you, I guess"

"You have my number"

"I don't know, Emma. I just wanted to"

"Whatever, Isaac" I say and go back to the table.
