Jackson's POV
It's 11. Emma should've been home forever ago. Unless she's...EW! Nope nope nope. Not thinking about that.
"Jackson, Tyler! Can you come down here please?" mom calls from downstairs. We go to the living room and see mom and dad sitting on the couch. Dad's on his phone and it looks like mom just got home.
"What's up?" I ask.
"Do either of you know where Emma is? Curfew was an hour ago" she asks.
"Nope" Tyler says.
"I can ask Tanner. She went on a date with him earlier" I suggest.
"Thanks, baby" she smiles. I get out my phone and go to Tanner's contact.
Me: Hey. Em needs to come home
Tanner: She's not with me
Me: Do you know where she is?
Tanner: I texted her earlier. She said she was at her exes house
Me: Joey's?
Tanner: Yeah
Me: His mom moved to a different state after he went to jail
Tanner: What about his dad?
Me: I don't know who he is but last I heard he was in jail
Tanner: When I was driving away I thought I saw her talking to a guy. Maybe he....took her?
Me: Did you see if she got in the car with him or something?
Tanner: No. Sorry.
Me: It's fine. I'll call her
Tanner: Ok
"Is she with him?" mom asks.
"1 minute" I say and call Emma. No answer. I call her 2 more times and she doesn't answer.
"Shit" I mumble.
"Jackson, what is it?"
"Tanner said he dropped her off hours ago. When he was driving away he thought he saw her talking to some guy. She told him she was at Joey's house"
"How is she at Joey's? His mom moved to Idaho"
"Did his dad get out of jail?"
"Who's his dad?"
"I don't know"
"Tanner saw her talking to someone after he dropped her off?"
"Yeah"
"Did you call Emma?"
"Yeah. She didn't answer"
"Colby, do you think someone took her?" she asks dad. He stands up and grabs her arms in a reassuring way.
"I honestly don't know. We'll try Emma 1 more time and if she doesn't come home in 30 minutes we'll go to the police ok? She's fine" dad says.
"What if someone hurts her? What if the same thing hap--. Text Tanner. Ask him what the guy looked like" mom says.
Me: What did the guy look like?
Tanner: Um light brown hair maybe? A few tattoos on his arms and face. Snakebite peircings
Me: K thx
"He said light brown hair, tattoo's, and snakebite tattoo's" I say. Mom and dad's faces go pale.
