They all got off the train and headed up the escalator back to home. They walked around the block to Benny's and upstairs into his half packed up apartment. "I'm gunna miss this place." He said leaning on Nina's shoulder.
"Same, I've only really been living here, if you can call it that, for a week. But it feels like home, even if it isn't my actual home, I'm home when I'm here with you."
Vanessa walked in behind them and wrapped an arm around Benny. "No sadness tonight. We will celebrate the apartment!"
"Okay then V. I have a few beers if you two what some. In the fridge, help yourself. But beers about the lot."
Nina just stayed silent, standing in place with her hands clasped in front of her.
Benny walked behind her wrapping his arms around her. "I'm not going to have anything baby."
"It's fine. You can drink if you want to," she said quietly.
"I don't want to drink, I'm not really in the drinking mood. And I'd much rather be sober with you than drunk with them."
"Benny, I'm sure you're just saying that for me. Drink if you want to, you don't have to stay sober with me boo."
"I'm not saying it just for you, I just don't want to drink anything." He kissed her cheek and started swaying side to side with her head leaning on his chest."
Nina still felt like he was saying it solely for her. She raised her eyebrow but didn't say anything else.
Benny turned her around, so they were facing each other. He rested his forehead on hers looking into her eyes. He smiled, hoping she'd smile back.
She smiled, just a bit.
Vanessa smiled softly watching them and took Usnavi's hand. "You know what, I think you two should have this time alone, we should go"
Benny sighed a little. He knew something was wrong. "No, you two stay here, grab drinks. I'm just going to talk to Nina in our room." He took her hand and brought her into his room. He shut the door behind them and put his hands on her waist. "Baby what's wrong, you seem upset." He said calmly.
"Nothing's wrong."
"But Nina, you were really smiley and happy earlier and it's all faded. You know you can talk to me about it."
"I know I can talk to you, but there's nothing to talk about. Nothing's wrong boo," she said again.
"Baby, please. I can read you better than you think. I know you."
"Babe, I swear, nothing's wrong." She stepped closer to him and ran her hand through his hair once to try and reassure him.
"Okay." Benny gave up. "Can have a cuddle and a kiss then please." He looked up smiling.
"Sure." She put her hands on his shoulders, then kissed him once. "Now can we go back out? I've worried everyone enough today."
"In a little bit," He kissed her again, holding her close. When he pulled back he said, "I love you. Okay, now we can go."
"Okay." She opened the door and walked out, Benny behind her.
Vanessa was sitting on the couch with Usnavi and smiled softly at them.
Nina smiled back at her, then sat down next to her.
Vanessa wrapped an arm around Nina as she wrapped hers around her in return.
Benny sat next to Nina leaning on her shoulder. He held a straight face, showing no expression.
She noticed Benny's blank expression. "What's wrong babe?" She put her head on Vanessa's shoulder, but still looked at him.
