102 - Falling In The Closet

Benny held her tightly around the waist. Once back in her room he shut the door behind him and turned her around. "Are you okay?"

"Mmhm," she hummed, for she knew that if she opened her mouth, she'd begin to cry.

Benny could see that she was near to tears. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close to his chest. "I've got you. You're safe with me baby girl." He rubbed her back gently trying to soothe her. "Everything will be okay."

"Mmhm." She trembled, but didn't break. She couldn't break. Nina choked on tears that were barely welling up in her eyes. She took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes, thinking it may help.

Usnavi rushed over to her, hugging her from the back as well.

Closing her eyes didn't help. It only made it worse. She was visualizing the scene. Running up to him, bloody in the bathtub. Pressing toilet paper on his wounds. Coming back to him cutting himself again. Pulling it back together and wrapping them up. Finding him again, blade near him and shouting at himself. She broke out from Benny's and Usnavi's grasp and ran to her closet, curling up in a corner and crying.

Benny just watched her and stared at Usnavi blankly. He didn't know what to do. He went and peeped into the closet but didn't go in. "Nina, do you want me to come in or leave you alone for a while. I'm happy to stay out here and take things to the car while you calm down a little bit."

"I don't know." Suddenly, she for some reason, wanted Vanessa. Her warm comfort. "You can go, but Usnavi?" she said, clinging to her knees.

Usnavi walked into the side of the closet where Nina was.

"Can you get V?" she mumbled.

Usnavi kneeled and said, "Sure." He wrapped his arms around her and said, "I'll go get her."

Nina shivered and said, "Thank you," burying her head in her knees.

Benny felt a little dejected that she didn't want him there to comfort her, yet didn't mind Vanessa. "I'm going to start taking the wood from your bed frame down to the car. I won't be long, but I'll be going back and forth. Call me if you want me. I love you." He then left the closet door and picked up some of the wood. He sighed a little and waited for Vanessa and Usnavi to return before leaving, so she wasn't alone.

"Okay." Nina shook on the carpeted floor of the closet, hair fallen in front of her face.

Usnavi rushed out of the house and walked to his house, knowing that V would probably be there. He unlocked and called out, "V? Babe, Nina wants you."

"Yep, coming." Vanessa ran out from Usnavi's living room. "Where is she?" She asked once she saw Usnavi by the front door.

"In her room at her parents' house. She started to break down and asked for you."

"Oh Okay. Where's Benny? Why isn't he with her?" She asked as they went across the street together and back up to Nina's room.

"He is. She wanted you though."

"Ohh, he probably feels terrible then. Let's hurry." They ran up the stairs and into Nina's room. Vanessa walked in seeing Benny stood leaning on the pile of wood with a frown on his face. "Hey Benny, you okay?"

"Not really, I'm worried about Nina, she's in the closet." He said blandly.

"Okay," Vanessa walked into the closet and saw Nina curled in in a ball.

"Usnavi, let's leave the girls to it. I want to stay and listen to the conversation, but I know it's going to be about me and I don't want to eavesdrop. Let's just get this wood and mattress out to the car."
