70 - Falling Pyjamas

Benny rested his head on hers, smiling. They wondered around the city for a little longer before eventually making their way back to Washington heights. "Is there anything you need from anywhere before we head home, well back to mine."

"No. You?"

"Nope. Let's go then." They walked up the stairs and back into Benny's oh so familiar apartment. He led her back onto the fire escape just as the sun was setting. "I love watching the sun set from here. It's always so amazing with the city skyline." He stood behind Nina and wrapped his arms around her abdomen.

"I agree."

"I love watching it with you." He rotated his head and kissed her cheek. "Brace comes off tomorrow, I can't wait. I can then go back to normal everyday life with you."

"Yeah. But do you think that we could get an elasticated fabric brace, just for now? I'm still a bit worried it might not go through correctly, even though it's probably healed by now."

"Of course, I want to get a fabric brace to wear at night, just to be safe. But it means most of the time we can be close and not have a barrier between us."

"Mmhm."

"Mmhm" he repeated. After the sun set Benny lead her into the bedroom. He sat her down on the bed as he took his jacket and tie off. He started undoing his shirt buttons letting his shirt fall loose around his body. He pulled Nina up again, kissing her gently.

Nina kissed him back tenderly, but after a few kisses, she pulled back and asked, "Can I go get my pajamas on?"

"Sure baby." He let go of Nina and walked over to the closet. He pulled out a large shirt and a pair of shorts. He changed in the closet as Nina changed in the main room. "You good? Am I safe to come out?" He called once he was changed.

"Um, not really. They're a bit too big," she said, giggling a bit. The shorts were falling off of her and what was supposed to be a short sleeved shirt was half-sleeve. "I think I'll just change back into my clothes and get something from my house. Haven't been home all day. I should probably check in on mom and dad anyway. Make sure they're getting along."

"You can borrow an oversized top of mine like you did a few days ago. You look cute in my oversized things."

"But what about my parents?" she said in the direction of his closet.

"How about we go see your parents, then come back her and you can wear an oversized shirt of mine?"

As she got redressed, she said, "Can I just get a pair of my pajamas?"

"But you look really cute and adorable in oversized tops. Not saying you don't look cute and adorable all the time, but especially in oversized tops." Benny said as he put his 'suit' back on.

She liked his tops, but she was more comfortable in her own pajamas. "Please?" she asked, not wanting to say something that may imply that his tops were uncomfortable.

"Fine." He said ending their pointless little squabble. "Am I good to come out now?" He asked again.

"Yes," she said, as she pulled her dress over her head. She walked over to the closet door and opened it, taking his hand. "Shall we?" She was glad that he'd ended their argument.

"Yes. We shall." He held his other hand over hers for a few moments as they walked out of his room then interlocked their fingers as they made their way out of the apartment and down to the Rosario's.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. I just feel cozier in my pajamas." She didn't mention that they made her feel more child-like, just with how long they've been with her. She hung her head a bit.
