UNTIL THE END

Chapter Twenty Six

They rode back along the dark road, Adaline wrapping her arms tightly around Noah's torso as they rode along on his bike. She had no idea what was going to happen between them both but for now she didn't care, she had told him how she felt and he had felt the same way back and with that they had made it clear to one another.

They slowed down as they pulled up outside of Adaline's Aunts house before Adaline unwrapped her arms from Noah and stepped off of the bike. Noah pushed the stand down with his foot before hopping off too, gently placing his hand around Adaline's waist as they strolled up to the front garden.

"So.." Noah went to say, clearly unsure of how to start.

"So.." Adaline repeated back smiling as she bowed her head tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Does this mean.." Adaline went to say but Noah cut her off.

"Mean...that I want to be with you? yes Adaline i do" Noah said boldly.

On the walk to his bike Noah had explained to Adaline what had gone on with Maria and she had understood why he did it. She knew how hard it was for her to hide those feelings and clearly he decided to try and cover them more than she did.

"Good, because I swear if you ever hurt me like that again-" Adaline snapped back teasingly.

"You'll what?" Noah cut in slowly moving towards Adaline placing his hands around her waist tightening his grip.

"I'll make sure you never see me ever again" Adaline snapped back sassily raising her eyebrow at Noah who laughed.

"Aw, well wouldn't that be a shame.." he said laughing as he brushed a strand of hair away from Adaline's face.

"Yes it would, and that may happen when I leave next week you know.." she said now sighing as she looked down.

"Hey, look that won't happen alright. I have my bike I can drive down and see you anytime?" Noah said reassuringly as he cupped his hand around Adaline's chin and gently pushed her up to view his eyes again.

She looked at him hopefully as she sighed.

"You promise?" she said softly and he smiled.

"I promise" he replied before he kissed her gently once again.

Adaline laughed through their kiss as she pulled away.

"I need to go..Aunt Carol probably is wondering where the hell I've been" Adaline said as she tried to leave but Noah held around her tightly still.

"Noahhh" Adaline groaned as she tried to get from his grip.

"Wait one more thing" Noah said before he pecked her on the lips again.

"Okay, okay I really need to go" she said laughing as she pulled away finally getting out of his grip.

"Meet me tomorrow? I have a surprise for you" Noah said sneakily.

"A surprise huh? Look at you" Adaline teased back smiling.

"Meet me by the oak tree tomorrow morning" Noah stated and Adaline nodded before going to walk up to the house.

Noah turned to walk back down the road before Adaline spun round on her heels and rushed back up to Noah leaning up on her tippy toes and kissed him one last time.

"Okay now I really mean bye" she said before running back up to the porch and finally going inside.

"Bye.." Noah chuckled at how funny she could be sometimes before walking off down the road.

That night Adaline dreamt a horrible dream, she imagined her last day and saying goodbye to Noah. She cried lots, and surprisingly he did a little too. She knew he had promised to come and visit her but with his job on the farm, and her being in her last year of school it was doubtful it would be many times.

She woke up the next day with her cheeks stained wet with tears. She sighed as she went over to the mirror and sat down at her vanity table. She rubbed away the tears and stared at herself, was this really how things would be in a few days. Was she really going to miss him this much, would they ever see each other again or was it all just an illusion. Would they ever have time for one another or eventually just drift apart and forget one another.

A while later Adaline finished getting ready before going to meet Noah. She had no idea what he had in store for her and she was excited but also nervous on what the 'surprise' was he was planning.

As she crouched and went underneath the fence, making her way across the field she noticed his outline in the distance over by the oak tree. She couldn't quite make out what he was doing until she got a little closer.
