UNTIL THE END

Chapter Twenty Five

Adaline had constantly thought about the fact Noah had broken up with Maria for her and how she had just shut him out again.

She knew how she felt for him but she couldn't let him in, after all he had never told her he loved her back and yet managed to with Maria who he had only known a few days.

When she had told him she liked him had that meant nothing to him? Was she the only one who felt sparks when they touched? Adaline was still overwhelmed by it all as she climbed under the fence and walked through the corn field over to the big oak tree opposite the lake.

She sighed as she sat down leaning her back up against the tree, before opening the book up and continuing to read again.

A while later she heard footsteps approaching behind her but she continued to read.

"Whatcha reading?" they said.

She let out a huff as she put her bookmark into the page and turned back to see them standing above her now, leaning against the tree with their hands in their pocket.

"What do you want?" Adaline snapped.

"Look, I went to your aunts house to try and find you but she said you had left about an hour ago, so I came where I assumed you'd be..I want to talk to you" Noah explained.

"Well I don't want to talk to you" Adaline snapped back as she got up from sitting down, closing her book.

"Adaline please" Noah begged following after her as she began to walk off, forcefully putting her book into her bag.

"No, look I don't want to speak to you alright?" Adaline snapped back.

"Adaline, don't shut me out" Noah shouted after her as he tried to catch up to her.

Adaline let out a small laugh as she shook her head in disbelief before turning back stopping Noah dead in his tracks.

"You know whats so funny? I thought you were different, I managed to make myself believe you were I don't know, genuine. Someone who would never hurt me. Not another one of the arseholes I know from back home. But here you go and be exactly what I excepted you not to be like, I trusted you and thought you could never hurt me but then you went and did exactly that" Adaline shouted waving her hands in frustration.

"Adaline I never meant to hurt you okay, I never wanted this to happen" Noah shouted back.

"Of course not, that's why you did so anyway and went and moved on with someone else so fast. That's because you so badly had feelings for me it was that easy to move on and forget about them right?" Adaline snapped back.

"Wait so you're telling me? You- you didn't try to move on? You didn't try to forget about me" Noah said.

"No! I tried, but I couldn't because.. because I loved you that much I couldn't imagine myself being without you!" Adaline shouted back groaning, before pausing after she realized what she'd just said.

Without realising she had just snapped and said something she didn't mean to come out and say. She had just admitted that she loved Noah, she had no idea how he felt and she had just told him she loved him.

"Idiot, idiot, idiot" she thought to herself as she screamed in her head.

"You- you love me?" Noah said his mouth partially open as he tried to transfer this information through his mind.

Adaline just stood opposite him holding her hands together twirling her ring on her finger. She couldn't believe she'd just said that and now she'd made herself feel like even more of a fool.

Noah just stood his eyes wide, his hands held half up in front of him frozen as he tried to figure out what to do. The girl he loved had just told him she loved him too but he had thought it was stupid and she never would, he had thought she would go back home and forget about him and he would be left heartbroken.

That is why he had gotten with Maria, that is why he didn't think anything of it because he thought there would be nothing between them. There couldn't be, it wouldn't work he kept thinking through his mind. He had to push those feelings aside and being so strong he decided to cover them by focusing on another girl.

He knew it was wrong but at the time it's what he decided to do. He had no idea she even liked him back so he didn't think there was any harm to it.

But now knowing she feels the same way made his heart ache, he had messed things up and made her cry by seeing him with that girl. He wished he could just go back and erase that, but he knew there was no erasing it now.

They both just stood opposite one another, Noah breathing heavily as he felt the overwhelmingness that it was real. She truly did feel the same way.

Although Noah knew how Adaline felt something inside him made him still feel scared to admit it. To admit his feelings. So being the idiot he was he didn't say anything back which clearly had affects on Adaline who then felt like a fool for saying anything.

But without hesitation Noah stared into Adaline's eyes a moment confusing her on what he was about to do before he shot forward grabbing round Adaline's face and kissed her hard on the lips.

She froze for a moment unsure of what was happening and whether it was the right thing to do or not but she didn't care. She felt her body tingle as his lips touched to hers and her body became like jelly, falling at his touch. She stood their defencelessly as Noah kissed her before he stood back wanting to know her reaction.

She just stared into his eyes her mouth partly open as she tried to take in what was happening and he was breathing heavily caught up in the moment, before she grabbed the collar on his tshirt and pulled him back in for another kiss.
