White lights flashed above as Adaline blinked, slightly opening her eyes. Sounds were heard all around her and she tried to open her eyes properly confused on what was going on.
"We have a code red down in ECR we need medical attention immediately" a faint woman's voice was heard to the side of Adaline.
"She's losing a lot of blood, we need to get her hooked up to the machine as quickly as we can" another voice said.
"Sir, sir you cannot come in. I'm sorry you're going to have to wait outside" more unusual voices were speaking around Adaline and she was confused on what was going on.
"But..she's she's, I need to be with her" Noah said and finally a familiar voice was heard and Adaline didn't feel so scared.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to wait in the hall" the nurse said and Adaline now unable to open her eyes again, heard faint footsteps recede out the door.
Just after Adaline then collapsed back unconscious.
Unaware what had happened right after she had given birth, Adaline had actually fallen unconscious after losing a lot of blood and Noah had to rush her to the hospital.
Lily, had been taken into a separate children's ward for emergency care and was run through many tests as being born outside and not in medical assistance could have some issues.
Luckily though, the nurses assured Noah that Lily was doing just fine and was showing signs of recovery after the traumatic birth.
Adaline, on the other hand not so much. She had kept falling in and out of consciousness the whole way to the hospital and lost a lot of blood.
The doctors ran tests on her, and hooked her up to a machine to keep check on her heartbeat and to make sure her condition was stable.
Noah sat in the hallway his head in his hands as he brought his fingers through his hair, he was exhausted but could not rest until he knew Adaline was okay.
He sat impatiently waiting for the doctors to tell him what was happening, his foot tapping rapidly as he began to worry more and more.
Just then the door to the room opened and out came a middle aged male doctor, he was holding a clipboard.
"Noah Giddons" he spoke as he read from the clipboard.
"Yes, yes that's me" Noah stated as he got up hastily from his seat and looked over at the doctor wishfully.
"I'm afraid I have some bad news" the doctor spoke softly.
Noah stood across from him in the empty hallway as the doctor spoke. Silence filled the hallways as he told Noah what had happened.
The same words rang through Noah's head over and over, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
It was like all of a sudden his life had just collapsed and broken down into a million pieces and everything that he had was gone, lost forever.
The same words would be plastered in his mind for what seemed like eternity.
"I'm afraid...Adaline, she..she did not make it" The doctor spoke with a saddened expression.
Noah fell backwards slowly into the seat behind as he bowed his head slightly unsure of how to react, his body went into like a trance and he froze.
This was it, this was the end. He had lost the one person in this world he cared about the most, the one person who had could never live without was now gone.
He had been left, left to live on with their new born child who would never get to met her own mother.
He had lost the person he loved with all this heart, she had been lost to him in a matter of minutes.
Their life they had planned together, was over, ruined, destroyed like it meant nothing.
She had been ripped from him, and he would never see her again.
And with that,
Adaline, at the age of 22, sadly passed away after battling for her life desperately for the past few hours of this day.
Adaline, had sadly after giving birth to hers and Noah's first child, Lily. Died of blood loss, and fell into an unconscious depth which she would never awaken from.
Noah sobbed uncontrollably into his hands as he sat in that corridor outside of her room.
He sobbed uncontrollably as he stood beside her clasping her now, cold, limp hand.
He felt like he would never stop crying and would never be able to live on without her in his life anymore.
He had lost the one thing that truly made life worth living, but he knew now, that he had to raise their daughter. He had to care for her and keep her safe, just as her mother would of wanted.
He would have to find a way to move on and find happiness again, not to forget about Adaline or fill the hole now in his heart for her but to find something to be placed in it to help him be happy once more.
Adaline Bowman had, had a profound impact on many people. And now, she had left a hole in all of their hearts, she had left something that would be sure that they would never forget about her.
That even though she was no longer on this earth, she would always be remembered just as if she was still here.
