The next morning, Adaline was woken up early. Apparently this family didn't know what sleep was and were up and outside by 7am.

As she stood with her arms crossed still barely even awake, she watched as Aunt Carol and the kids ran around the field using their sheep dogs to herd the sheep back into their pens. Charlotte and Oliver ran laughing following after the sheep as they hurried towards the pen.

"They're literally a family from a country movie" Adaline thought to herself as she stood trying to get through her mind that she was actually witnessing this.

"You don't seem impressed" a voice said from behind Adaline.

"I'm sorry?" she asked confused spinning round to see a boy around her age standing in wellington boots and dungarees with his arms posed on his hips.

"You're not from around here are you?" he questioned and Adaline just laughed.

"Bit of a accusation wouldn't you say?" she snapped back crossing her arms but from her appearance you could clearly tell he was correct. She was stood ankle deep in mud, with black converse on, black jeans, her denim jacket and pale red crop top.

"Well I'm pretty sure it's correct for one thing" he snapped back eyeing down Adaline.

She felt herself burn up when he did this, something about him was mysterious and she liked that. Back home most of the boys were either idiots or had been out with her friends so she didn't really bother with relationships. But down here they were new and different, she enjoyed that.

"Well you're right then, I'm not from around here. What gave it away?" she joked as she held her arms in the air showing herself off.

"You're quite deep in that mud, sure your shoes will be okay, miss pristine?" he teased but Adaline just rolled her eyes as she went to walk but just as she did so she lost her balance and slipped, falling back and splatting into the mud.

The boy let out a huge laugh as he stared down and saw her sat, clearly not pleased by what had just happened or his reaction for that matter.

"Need some help?" he said holding a hand down to Adaline but she didn't want his help so she just ignored him.

"I'm fine thank you" she snapped before trying to get up but instead embarrassed herself once again and slipped back down once more, falling onto her butt only making the boy laugh once again.

"Are you sure about that, here just take my hand" he said more ordering now. Adaline sighed before giving in to defeat and clasping her hand into his and he pulled her up firmly.

She gasped as she shot forward from his strong pull and smacked right into him, but luckily he kept his balance and stayed upright. Instead she fell into his chest and got uncomfortably close to this stranger.

"Oh sorry didn't mean to pull you so hard, pristine" he said laughing as he held his hands around Adaline's shoulders and moved her back slightly.

Adaline hated how cocky he was, but at the same time found him kind of funny too. Not to mention the fact he was undeniably gorgeous.

"Pristine? Didn't realise we were using nicknames now?" Adaline snapped teasingly as she crossed her arms once again, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Well considering I don't even know your name yet, nicknames are all I have to go on" he replied confidently, insinuating he wanted to know her name.

"The names Noah" Noah spoke boldly holding out a muddy hand to shake but Adaline just stared at it before keeping her arms crossed.

"Adaline, Adaline Bowman" Adaline snapped back giving him a sarcastic smile.

"Ah she even has a fancy name" Noah adds laughing.

"Fancy name? I'll have you know this was my grandmothers name thank you very much-" Adaline went to say but Noah cut her off.

"You're hotter when you aren't talking" Noah cut in saying, making Adaline stop shocked by what he said.

"Excuse me?" she snapped getting annoyed with him again now.

"You heard me, you should learn to not talk as much" he added as he turned to walk off.

"And you should learn to have manners" Adaline snapped back within seconds, perks of being friends with the 'popular kids' meant you learnt how to defend yourself quickly and become sassy, well sassier that was.

Noah just laughed "I like you, Adaline Bowman" he said adding an extra emphasis on her name, as he continued to walk off but Adaline heard him. Instead of replying she just stood shocked and confused by this new stranger she had just met, yet somehow had just argued and apparently flirted with within a few minutes.

"Jesus, this is just like a movie " Adaline thought to herself as she struggled to walk off back towards the home where everyone else was now, groaning as she stumbled and squelched through the mud.
