Chapter Fifty Eight

The sun glistened through the curtains as Lily groaned before turning to see the sun coming through the gap in her curtains, harshly hitting her in the eyes.

She turned away covering at them trying not to wake up before remembering what today was.

She was going down to see her family again, she had briefly spoke to them on the phone when she was younger but not actually stayed with then.

Although her father told her that him and her mother had gone while she was pregnant with Lily.

"Lils, you awake" Noah said as he peered his head around the door slowly.

"Mhmm" Lily groaned as she opened her eyes properly before sitting up right in her bed.

"Good, I thought maybe we could set off early and stop for breakfast on the way" Noah stated as he sat down onto the edge of her bed.

Lily's eyes lit up when she heard those words and instantly got out of bed and started getting ready.

Noah had already gotten up earlier and gotten ready, putting the suitcases into the boot of the car and making sure they had everything they needed.

"Ready to go Lils?" Noah shouted up the stairs a while later.

Footsteps were heard and Lily hopped down the stairs one by one.

"Yep!" she exclaimed.

Noah stared up in beauty as he watched his daughter hop down the stairs. She was wearing a floral dress with little white socks on and her natural wavy locks flowed over her shoulders.

He couldn't help but feel a smile escape his lips as he watched, she looked so much like her mother.

She then sat down onto the bottom step and out on her white pumps and Noah snapped back into reality.

"You look so much like your mother Lils" Noah stated and Lily looked up to catch her fathers eyes and smiled.

"Really?" she questioned.

"Really" Noah added.

A long time later they were on the road and coming up nearer to the diner they were stopping off at for breakfast.

Noah pulled up into a parking space, letting the engine die down before they made their way inside.

"What do you fancy then?" Noah asked as he looked over his menu and in front of him where Lily was sat across scouring the menu.

Lily didn't answer but instead had a concentrated face as she tried to decide what to have, their were so many choices and she had never been to a diner before, she didn't realize how much food there was.

"Well, I'm having the eggs and bacon on toast" Noah stated as he placed the menu back down onto the table and clasped his hands together, gazing over to Lily again.

"Could I get the pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream please" Lily pleaded as she finally placed the menu down onto the table and gazed over to Noah with puppy dog eyes.

"Of course sweetie" Noah smiled.

A moment later a waitress came over and learn to the side retrieving a notepad and pen from her apron pocket.

"What can I get you?" she asked, flipping the notepad open and getting ready to write down their order.

"Could I please have the eggs and bacon on toast.." Noah asked and the waitress nodded before writing down his order.
