Dasoku x Reader

"Will you be there to catch me as i fall?
Will you be the one to pick me up when i'm too weak to save myself?"

Her thoughts kept her up that night,

"Even when you held me in your arms, i still felt cold"

She twisted and turned in her bed, next to the one she held close, her thoughts were dark and scary, almost as if it was the darkness itself.

Her twists and turns woke her lover from his slumber, "whats wrong darling", he turned to face her and embraced her in his warm arms.

"... I just can't seem to fall asleep... That's all.." She breathed in his scent as he rubbed small circles on her back. "Wanna head outside for a walk? The stars are out tonight" he suggested even though he was dead tired, but anything for his love right?

"Mhmm" she nodded, pulling away from his embrace to fetch her cardigan. He got up as well,  a yawn escaped his lips, "actually, lets not go out... You seem tired and have work in the morning don't you" she said it more of a statement than a question.

"We're heading out, I can't fall asleep knowing that you're troubled, and besides, i'm took leave for tomorrow, or perhaps you would like a cup of hot choco instead?" He suggested, "yea, lets do choco" she replied as she placed the cardigan back.

He smiled in the dark room, with nothing but the stars and moon outside to illuminate the room with a soft glow from the window.

"Shall we?" He took her hand and opened the door, guiding her out, then closing it once more. As the pair made their way to the kitchen, where he began to make some delicious smelling hot choco for the both of them.

"So what's up, is it something you can talk about or perhaps we should just enjoy the choco in this cool night" he spoke as the hot choco was reaching its final stages of completion.

"Well...  Remember how i told you about the pills i took a few years ago before we met?" He nodded as he gave her her choco, "well... I told you it was simply some medications for an illness, but I didn't talk more about it. Well...  I was diagnosed with clinical depression. It got so bad that i couldn't sleep, suffered from insomnia and even had suicidal tendencies." His heart ached as she told him her story, "so doc prescribed some meds, it worked for a while... But once i stopped taking them, my demons crept back up. Then, that was when i met you, that day, i wanted to end it all, the meds were annoying but mostly it was because i knew that i wouldn't be able to win this fight anyways,"

She sipped her choco as he listened carefully,  "I marked the date on my calendar, prepared everything and all, then organized a meetup with Hanatan, Reol and Piko, it was supposed to be the last time, but they brought you along. As we got to know each other more, my demons backed away, until today. They came back."

Her eyes were watering, his hands immediately went up to hold her face, wiping the tears away, before she could speak another word, he spoke up, "I didn't know you went through so much, I'm not sure if i'll be able to help in any way at all, but i can guarantee that i'll be by your side through it all, you're not alone in this. This  is our promise," he kissed the ring on her finger, "i promised to be by your side through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, i will always be by your side"

"Dasoku..." her voice quivered, she was shaking slightly, he noticed this and embraced her. "Its alright now, cry all you want, let it all out, i'll be with you till the bitter end."

(TT_TT) My writing has gotten worse  (TT_TT) Well, i was trying to picture what it could be like to be depressed to a certain degree cuz I do have friends who are going through depression and trying my best to help, but there are times where i feel that i made things worse, and fel that i'm not helping them at all, yet, they thank me for helping them through their breakdowns...

Well...   I should get some sleep soon..
