The two women walked down the aisle, their wide eyes and long necks swiveling with each step. They were almost avian in nature. The way they wildly looked about the train suggested that they weren't used to such an environment. Their long, thin legs slowed, and they stood a reasonable distance from me. They stood close together, hiding behind one another, watching me. They way they stared at me made me feel like I was some sort of oddity, like a two-headed tortoise. I didn't really think much of it, though, I received looks like that all the time. I assumed they were either trying to assert dominance or estimate if I was safe to approach.

Hesitantly, they sat down next to me. They glanced at me once more before engaging in conversation, and a strange ritual involving massaging each other's shoulders.
