anime about things anime shouldn't be about
each season covers a different genre of anime and fucking obliterates it
such as:
ping pong sports anime
mech anime where the mechs are made of flesh and controlled by robots
the magical girl's outfit is heavy military-grade armor and she brutally murders cutesy creatures that are chaotic neutral at best
harem where the girls actually don't give a fuck about the main character and he's just a delusional stalker
same with the reverse harem
comedy that doesn't use chibi characters or over-exaggerated expressions as sources of humor. all the characters crack jokes with deadpan expressions and the laugh track goes off at random times.
ecchi that has all characters fully-clothed at all times
slice of life where the main character is constantly complaining about how boring their life is (it is extremely boring. we actually focus on the more interesting background characters throughout the season)
etc.
