I made the video attached to this chapter (about 10 seconds).

This one-shot is inspired by (but not plagiarizing) the Sanders Sides story Innerworks by Prplzorua on AO3. Not HEAVILY based on that story, but just an idea I got from an idea they wrote about in their story. I'm also not including any of the "children" because they aren't my characters, so yeah.

Although, I would definitely recommend their story because it is REALLY good.

Prinxiety if you squint hard enough.

...

Patton whistles as he stirs the pot of spaghetti sauce on the stove. The noodles were boiling on the burner next to him, and the timer had 6 minutes left on it. Looking out to the dining room, he has to suppress his disappointment that only Logan was there despite him having texted everyone a reminder.

Returning back to the sauce, Patton stirs idly until the timer goes off. Removing the pot of spaghetti noodles from the stove and turning off the heat, Patton dumps the pot into the colander in the sink. "Smells good."

Patton flips around and nearly smacks Virgil with the hot pot in surprise, but the darker Side luckily ducked. "No need to attack me!"

Laughing, Patton sets the pot aside and helped Virgil off of the floor. "Sorry, kiddo. Didn't hear you come up from behind me."

Virgil nods and pulls out some plates and silverware, helping Patton serve the food, as he does.

"Oh yeah." Patton gestures with his head to the tray on the other side of the counter. "I put your desserts other there."

Virgil looks to see where he gestures and thanks Patton when he sees them. The two of them scoop three bowls of spaghetti and sauce into the dishes, leaving a plate out for Roman for whenever he showed up.

Patton grabs one and a glass of iced tea on his way to the dining room table. He sets the cup down in front of Logan and removes the papers he was holding after wiping the condensation off of his hands. He puts the papers off to the side as Logan grumbles in protest. "Hey, I was grading those."

"Later. Now eat." Patton smiles at him, setting a plate on his placemat. Virgil sets a fork and knife in front of Logan as he sits down, chuckling at Logan's annoyed pouty face. Patton has just sat down with his plate and fruit punch when Roman walks quickly into the room.

"Apologies for running late." He pats Patton on the shoulder as he went to fix his plate of spaghetti.

Virgil stares at him as if he was crazy as Roman grabbed a leftover Tropical Smoothie from the fridge, but the others acted as if nothing was unnatural. "Why are you smoldering?"

Looking down at his normally white uniform, Roman notices how charred it looked. "I just got done containing a dragon witch with my fellow royals."

Pursing his lips slightly and returning to his food, Virgil can't help but think, I really want to go to Princey's kingdom. For him, it was sometimes hard to believe that Roman was actually royalty in the subsection of Thomas' mind that encompasses his kingdom, and Virgil really wanted to see it; even Logan and Patton had both been there.

At the same time, Roman watched Virgil out of the corner of his eye. I really want Virgil to see my kingdom one day. Maybe then he'll understand what I do isn't stupid.

Throughout the dinner, the four of them talked about anything and everything, Patton supplying the most conversation. He usually did considering he was the one pushing them all to have 'family' dinners every night. Despite being busy with his kingdom, and having a banquet there prepared for him if he asks, Roman always ditches them to be a part of these dinners. It made Patton happy.
