Roman barely had a chance to turn around before being slammed into a hug with Virgil as he flew out of their bedroom. Picking Roman up, Virgil spins the two of them around in the air of their apartment.

"Virgil! Put me down!"

A giggly Virgil lowers the two of them to the floor. Roman chuckles at Virgil's obvious excitement. "Sorry, I'm just so excited! It's been so long since we've gone out on an actual date."

Hooking his arm with Virgil's, Roman smiles at his boyfriend. "Forward or backwards? How many years?"

"Hmmm..." Virgil thinks, tapping his chin with a smile. "Let's go backwards, further than we've ever gone before!"

Roman chuckles while silently preparing himself for a long haul. "How far?"

"200 years!"

Closing his eyes, Roman concentrates, trying to tap into his power. When he opens his eyes, he focuses on their changed surroundings. Lightheaded, Roman takes in several deep breaths.

"Wow," Virgil unhooks his arm from Roman's, walking forward a few steps and turning in a circle to marvel at where they were. "This is nothing like the movies."

Coming up to stand next to Virgil, Roman also turns to look around. Breath hitching, he stared with wide eyes.

As if sensing something was wrong with his boyfriend, Virgil turns to him. Taking note of the nervous expression on his face, Virgil puts a hand on Roman's shoulder. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Roman doesn't say anything.

"Roman, you've always been so secretive," Virgil turns Roman's face to look at him, giving him a loving smile. "Please tell me."

Returning a shy smile, Roman slowly nods. "Okay..."

After trading out their clothes for an outfit from an old-timey shop to blend in better with the people of the time, Roman and Virgil walk through the small town. They are careful not to be romantic or affectionate with each other, a burden they know of whenever they travel to the past.

Waiting patiently, Virgil allows Roman to take his time to gather his thoughts. Moving to stand close to him, fighting off the urge to hold his hand, Virgil gives Roman as much comfort as he could.

"I-" Roman starts, fiddling with his cloth jacket. "I well, I guess I might as well just come out and say it."

Virgil nods and Roman continues. "I'm not, well, I'm not from your time."

"What do you mean?" Virgil questions.

"I wasn't born in the future, like you were," Roman still wasn't sure how to break it to his boyfriend. "I was born in the past."

Staring silently, Virgil's eyes flicked back and forth between Roman's eyes as if trying to sense a lie. "Continue before my mind thinks of things worse than what you're going to tell me. I'm all ears."

Roman lets out a breath. "I was born in the past, very similar looking to this time, and in the past, I was a prince."

"Like," Virgil stops him. "An actual prince? Son of a king, prince?"

Nodding, Roman continues. "Back then, not very many people had powers, so when I learned about mine, I had no idea what to do. I was a teenager with no one to ask about them."
