Headache

Logan lay, once again, miserable and in pain as he tried to sleep. After having worked himself too much, he would admit, he turned off his computer and settles into bed, hoping to get some well-deserved rest.

His headache wouldn't allow it.

He didn't know how long he lied there, tossing and turning in his bed, moaning and groaning. He feared moving because that might make his headache worse. Finally deciding that it couldn't really get any worse and that he HAD to try something for it to get better, he gets up.

Going to the kitchen, slowly, he gets an icepack out of the freezer and plops down on the couch with it, never one to resort to medicine. He lies down entirely on his stomach with his cheek lying on the ice pack.

He didn't lay there long before Patton came into the room to get a cup of water. He noticed Logan lying there once he turned on a light. Patton was momentarily frightened, letting out a yelp of surprise, not expecting Logan to be lying there. "Oh. Hey, Logan."

Logan only groans in response as the light seeped into his eyes, making his headache throb harder.

"Uhm," Patton puts his hands together. "Whatcha doin'?"

Logan just mumbles "headache" against the couch, not trying to hide it like he normally would because he was in too much pain to care.

After a few seconds of silence, Logan could see the lights turn off and heard Patton shuffling. He breathed out in relief, expecting Patton to have left him alone.

Patton walks over to look at him and notices he's lying against an ice pack. Feeling bad for him, Patton gently lifts Logan's head and icepack and sits down in the spot, replacing Logan's head on his lap.

Logan looks at him strangely, rolling backwards slightly to see him straight-on. Patton smiles. "You shouldn't suffer alone."

Nodding weakly in return, Logan allows his neck to relax as he snuggled into the icepack on Patton's lap.

"Where does it hurt?" Patton asks him, and Logan just carelessly gestures to the side of his head. Patton paused for only a second before lifting the back of Logan's sleep shirt a little and sliding the ice pack to the center of his back. Logan sighed at the feeling and he felt the cold spread.

Putting his hand on the part of his head that Logan pointed to, Patton starts to gently rub the area. Logan lets out a breath of relief and feels the pain start to rescind almost immediately. He never knew how amazing it would feel on a headache.

He relaxes into Patton's lap, feeling less tense, and it didn't take him long to drift off into a peaceful sleep.

Patton continues to massage Logan's head for a few minutes, letting his thoughts wander. When he looked back down at Logan's face, he notices his breathing had evened out. His usually-tense muscles were loosened, and his eyes were closed. Patton had to hide his joyful reaction at Logan's soft smile. Patton didn't get to see Logan smile much, and it made his heart flutter.

Settling deeper into the couch, he relishes in the fact that Logan had finally allowed him to care for him, which was something Logan never let him do.

Despite knowing he was no longer awake, Patton continues to massage Logan's head gently until he too, falls asleep.

...

This is not a rant (yes it is).

Trust me, the ice pack thing helps (although not a cure, by any means), and the head massage really helps.

(I love me some good 'ole Logan hurt/comfort)
