"Just let me help. Please?"
Logan eyed him again. Patton simply refused to leave him alone. "Patton, I am fine."
"You're still bleeding." He points. Okay, sure. He was still bleeding. Logan dabs at the cut on his arm again with the paper towel he'd grabbed.
"See?" He held it up for Patton to see. "It stopped."
They waited. It only took a few more seconds before more blood rose to the surface, red signifying that no, it hadn't stopped. Logan frowned but wouldn't agree to Patton's smothering. "I am fine."
He dabs at it again, folding the paper towel over his arm and leaving it there. Patton watches silently with no expression as Logan rests his wrists back on his laptop to continue typing.
Logan tries to focus back on his work, but he's still very aware of Patton's presence close to him. It's incredibly difficult to focus on his planning while Patton sneakily tries to look under the paper towel, watching to see if it begins to bleed again.
A few minutes of silence later, Patton slowly removes the paper towel from his arm. Logan flicks his head to Patton, who doesn't focus on him but rather his cut. Logan looks down at it as well.
It wasn't deep; wouldn't even leave a scar. It wasn't even bleeding anymore. "See? It is fine."
Patton turns his eyes upward to see Logan's frustrated expression and stands to leave the room, taking the dirty paper towel with him. Logan heaves out a breath, glad he was gone but guilty for pushing him away. He'd only wanted to help him.
Appearing back in the room, Patton walks over to Logan, who watches in surprise as Patton drops a few items on the floor beside where he kneels next to him. Patton opens a plastic container and pulls out a wipe.
"You woulda thought that a smarty-pants like you would understand that not properly treating a cut is bad." He smirks at Logan, although kindly, making Logan a little more relieved that he hadn't made Patton mad at him.
Patton swabs his cut with the wipe and Logan hisses as his arm starts to sting, making a move to push Patton off him, but Patton bats his hand away. He tries to pull his arm away, but Patton grabs his wrist to keep him still, expecting his reluctance.
"Oh, it's not that bad."
Logan look at him bug-eyed. "I beg to differ."
Rolling his eyes, Patton sets the wipe aside, opening a box and pulling out a bright blue Band-Aid. Logan gives him a warning glance. "You are not putting that on me."
"I will, whether you like it or not." Patton peels it off the paper packaging, squirting a bit of antibiotic on the patch. Logan watches Patton line the Band-Aid up with his cut, switching directions to try to ensure that the adhesive wasn't on the cut.
He placed it diagonally over the cut, leaving half of the wound exposed. Logan opened his mouth to tell him this, but Patton peeled another Band-Aid, placing this one next to the other one, successfully covering the cut in its entirety.
Patting it for good measure, although entirely unneeded, Patton smiles warmly and stands.
"Want a lollipop for being such a good boy?" Patton pouted his lips, talking in a more child-friendly tone of voice.
It just felt patronizing to Logan. "No, but headache medicine would be great."
"You have a headache?" Patton asked seriously, having not expected him to be in pain that much considering the cut was rather small.
"I will if you don't stop smothering me."
Patton grinned, giggling as he leaves the room with the items he'd brought in. As he shuts the door, Logan turns in his computer chair to him.
"Patton?" Patton stopped in the doorway, waiting to see what Logan wanted. Logan gave him a small, grateful smile. "Thank you."
He wouldn't admit it, or allow it to happen all that much, but Logan did appreciate how much Patton cared for him.
