AU, I guess.

Panic/anxiety attack warning for later in the oneshot.

Make sure you know what the title for this oneshot is.

...

Thomas strolled into the kitchen early one morning and grabbed an apple from their fruit bowl. "Good morning family!"

His old brother grunted in response, the complete opposite of a morning person. His younger brother bounced in his seat, returning Thomas' greeting.

"What a beautiful day to head to yet another day of fabulous high school!" He took a bite of his apple after giving his mother a kiss on the cheek.

She laughed at his antics, slightly confused by how bright and happy he was acting first thing in the morning. "Well aren't you just a happy boy today, isn't he Hun?"

Thomas' dad looked away from where he was frying bacon for only a brief second to agree. Laughing, Thomas gave his dad a hearty pat on the back before going over to grab his backpack. "Just excited for another day of theatre rehearsal after school, especially."

He slung his backpack over his shoulder, throwing the apple core in the trash can as he went to open the door, briefly passing by his kid brother to ruffle his hair. "See you for dinner!"

"Roman." Thomas had just turned the knob on the front door to leave when his mom spoke softly from behind him.

He turned around, confused. "Yes?"

"Please let Thomas go to school today." She smiled gently at him, folding the dish towel over her hands. Roman looked around the room at his family, and they all looked back at him with either concerned or gentle faces.

Sighing, Roman nods. He closes his eyes, breathing deeply, and when he opened them again, his facial expression had changed. Thomas' family smiled upon recognizing him, and Thomas smiled shyly before continuing to open the door, calling out a "love you guys", and left for school.

...

Thomas finished bubbling in an answer for the last question on his test and stood up to turn it into the teacher. When he walked up the aisle, he met the eye contact of his best friend, who was obviously confused with how fast he finished the pop quiz.

When he handed over the test to the teacher, she looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. "Finished already?"

"Yes."

She pursed her lips. "I'll go ahead and grade this right now, then. If you wouldn't mind staying up here while I do."

Thomas nodded, having no problem with waiting while the teacher graded his test; he was sure he got an A on it. The teacher scanned the test and she looked at the passing results. Frowning, the teacher looked back up at him. "Did you cheat?"

"No ma'am." Thomas shook his head, being honest.

The teacher jotted something down at the front of his test, and instead of handing it back to Thomas, she opened her desk drawer and slipped it inside. "Please make your way down to the principal's office, Thomas. I will call and let them know you are on your way."

Thomas was confused and astounded. "But I didn't cheat."

"You can tell that to the principal and he'll decide what to do with your lies."

Thomas shook his head. "I'm not lying."

Although he was obviously frustrated and confused, he kept his voice down in respect of the other students taking the test. The teacher stood up and gave him a look that clearly meant business. "Principal's office. Now."
