They just look at each other. Their eyes were locked and neither dared to move. The only noise was the slight hiccups erupting from Lola.

The crying girl sneers, "What do you want?"

Victoria shrinks down to meet her height. On her knees, she pushes a strand of her hair behind her head.

"Are you okay?"

I slap her hand away, "I'm fine."

Pushing herself up, she mock-salutes her and leaves the bathroom.

Why does she care? She doesn't know what it's like. How could she know how it feels to go through this endless cycle of pain and misery. It's like a black hole from which she can never escape. She just keeps sinking farther and farther down. Everyone knows how the stories go. Once your deep enough, you can never get out.

There's no point in trying.

Lola wipes her tears away and puts her brave face on. Once she looks good enough, she straightens her posture and continues her day.
