Lola rests her chin on both of her hands. Both are laced together as she watches her mother order. The soft atmosphere of the beige walls radiate with calmness. She noticed there were a lot of potted plants scattered around. The restaurant was gorgeous in a nostalgic way.

"May I have two plates of the deluxe steaks?" her mother asks.

The waiter nods and says he will come back with their food later.

"So, what's the occasion?" she asks whilst looking deep into her mothers tranquillizing hazel eyes.

In reply, she smiles gently, "Nothing. I just wanted to see you happy today. You've been looking upset lately, so I wanted to treat you."

It's hard to make Lola blush. But, hearing such a sincere comment come out of her mom makes her flush pale pink. Obviously proud of making her daughter blush, the older woman chuckles lightly.

"Mom!" she whines.

The peaceful atmosphere settles in. But, obviously, her demons just couldn't allow that could they? The news suddenly pops up on the screen of the TV hovering above them. The heading saying, 'ADULT WOMAN MURDERED IN CHICAGO'

Lola gulps as negative thoughts begin to attack at her mind. They seemed to have come out of nowhere and she begs for them to leave. Why is it happening now? She skims through the heading of the news as her heartbeat quickens. The image of the woman then slowly replaces itself with her own mothers face. Her lifeless eyes transfigure into her moms compelling ones.

She looks at her, and thinks frighteningly. Her mom isn't always going to be around. One day she will die and Lola will be left on her own. God knows if they will ever meet again or if she will even have an afterlife.

A tear slips down her cheek. "I don't want her to die," she thought.

Her mom looks at her in concern, "What's wrong?"

Lola wipes it away with the back of her hand.

"Nothing."
