Lola walks into the old brown building. Immediately, she plants a fake smile on her face. Many figures are crowded in the hallway. All of them are clustered together in hopes that their numbers will overcome the misery that is high school.

Lola clutches her books to her chest and treads softly towards her group of friends; Samantha, Tyra and Riley. They greet her with big smiles and hugs. She grinned back and hugged Samantha first tightly then Tyra. Even though she could feel the dread from the night before creeping back into her head, she shoves it away, she embraces them back.

Riley was the only boy in their friend group. He didn't like to hang out with guys that much. All the talks about football, and the hot girls they found on the street didn't really entice him to continue talking. He found girls much easier to connect with.

His jade eyes lock with hers. "Hey Lola, we have our AP Calculus test coming back today," he states as he nervously tucks a lock of his long brown hair behind his ear.

She simply rolls her eyes, "Whatever."

Deep down, she was a ticking grenade ready to blow up into chaos.
