The room was still. Lola had no idea how to talk to Victoria. Despite finally agreeing to become friends with her, she just didn't know how to approach her. Luckily, Riley saved her.
"So.. Victoria, how is your painting coming along?"
Her eyes immediately lit up and her lips setting in to a nostalgic smile. It seemed as if she was imagining this peaceful and innocent paradise. Lola assumes she indulges in the pleasures of it almost every day from her expression.
"It's going great, I'm almost done."
Lola raised an eyebrow, "You like to paint?"
She turns to her and tries not to make eye contact. The soft echoing of her fingers tapping together was prominent to both Riley and Lola.
"Yeah, I do. It's my escape. I guess you could say it's passion."
The red-haired girl goes silent before asking her boyfriends sister, "Do you have a passion?"
Lola laughs almost sadly, "No, unless watching TV counts."
Victoria dunks her head with a silent, "Oh."
Riley breaks the tension between the two by saying, "Hey, how about we all hang out at Tim Hortons after school tomorrow. My treat, and you two can get to know each other better."
They soundlessly agree.
