After several hours of sitting, boredom, and working, Lola finally exits the school. It feels as if a huge weight has been taken off her shoulders. She can feel herself automatically relaxing.

Treading down the stairs silently as other students giggle and talk, she sits down and unzips her backpack. She simply to double-checks to make sure she had everything.

She had another Calculus test. This time, she wanted to do better so she could at least get a B in the class. Her eyes widen as she realizes she left her textbook in her locker.

Some of her peers were still wandering around, probably waiting for other friends to catch up. When she gets to her locker, she speedily dials the combination. When she grabs the heavy, plain blue book in her hands, relief washes over. Then, Lola gets ready to run outside.

Then, she sees it. Out of the corner of her eye, Lola notices two familiar figures entangled in an embrace and barely brushing their lips. A feather-light kiss as they stared into each others eyes.

Riley and Victoria.

Tears pour out of her eyes. Today, when she was at her lowest in years. He has the audacity to kiss her. Though Lola is aware he didn't know, she couldn't help but feel like her heart had been ripped out of her chest and stomped on a million times.

Riley finally sees her and looks at her in confusion. Worry had immediately filled his eyes. However, he doesn't let go of the girl in his arms. Lola hiccups as the tears keep rushing down.

Then, she runs.
