When school was over, the very first thing Lola did was call Victoria. She tossed away all of her homework just for a second to check on her best friend. That's something she could always do later. If she didn't help her now, God knows what could happen to her health.
After the third try, her phone buzzes and goes silent. Her voicemail message comes on and giggling erupts from her device. Lola throws her phone onto her bed in frustration.
She falls onto the bed and tries to keep her breathing normal. Why did she care that much anyway?
Then, after a couple seconds her phone rings. Her quiet ring tone of Taylor Swift's 'Safe and Sound' is played. Lola scrambled for her phone immediately and picked up.
"Victoria?"
Slight and uneven shallow breaths were heard from the other side.
"Hey."
"I'm coming over, right now."
