The next couple of days were extremely frustrating for Lola. She was absolutely overwhelmed by events from before. The image of her brother – she wasn't even sure she could consider him a brother anymore – and that witch kissing haunted her mind.

She was stuck in the middle. Lola had no idea how to feel or how to react, but one thing for sure is that her morals simply wouldn't allow her to betray her friend like that. Even if she had known Riley for longer, it wasn't right for to keep it a secret and drown in her guilt.

So, Lola set off through the school, in search for the red-haired girl. The students were swirling around and almost embodied waves. When it was calm, all the creatures lurking within this pit were at rest. But, when the sea started to get restless, they would too.

She wished that the waves wouldn't grasp onto everything and sink everyone under. It was cruel and unsettling. She had drowned too many times that she can't even feel her own heart beating anymore.

Lola shakes herself out of her thoughts as she feels hands wrap around her face, shielding her eyes from the view. She almost immediately knew who it was.

"Hands off Vic."

The taller girl giggled halfheartedly and did as Lola asked. The shorter girl then spun around to face her friend. Her eyes rolled back dreamily as she began to squeal softly, "Guess what happened?" The other shrugged and motioned for her to continue.

"Riley got me a whole basket of flowers today and left it in my locker. It was so cute. Your brother is amazing."

Lola's eyes widened. What was the fool playing at? She figured she had to tell her friend now, or else she would fall deeper for him and that simply could not happen.

"Victo-"

The red haired girl placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled fondly with tears in glazing her eyes, "I've never felt this loved in ages, Lola."

In that moment Lola knew that she didn't have the guts to tell her. So, her lips snapped shut.
