An incoming video call was coming from Victoria. Lola was quick to answer and she saw her best friend's exhausted face through the screen. She planted herself on her bed. Lola leans in to the phone and asks, "How are you doing?"

Victoria swallows a lump in her throat as she hugs a pillow. "Better."

The other pushes a strand of her hair back, "Where have you been at school?" she carefully asked as she stares at Victoria's long sleeves. She wishes at that moment she had x-ray vision so she could look through and check on her best friend. Her heart was shattering for her.

"I just don't wanna come much anymore. I'm tired," she says the last part quietly.

"Vic–"

Victoria sniffles and buries her face in her pillow. Soft sobs ripped through the quietness.

"Hey, hey. Calm down Vic. We're going to get through this."

She shakes her head in such desperation Lola could feel her heart ripping. "No Lolo, it's not going to get better. I'm so tired of them pushing me around like this. I can't live like this anymore Lola. They need to stop. I was already sad before because of my depression and my dad and just everything. But now, this feeling is swallowing me whole and I just can't."

Lola's eyes soften, "Victoria. It's going to be okay. They'll move on. Don't let them get to you. You have to promise me to let it go and stay safe. They aren't worth it. Don't do anything you will regret."

Victoria nods but that still isn't enough for Lola. She pushes her a little further and she finally says, "Okay, I promise."

"Good, I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay Vic? It's getting late. Take care of yourself, I love you."

Victoria smiles slightly with a hint of sadness, "Talk to you soon. I love you too my best friend."

Lola had no clue what would happen the next day.
