Victoria looked like a complete mess which absolutely broke Lola's heart. Yes, she may have not been particularly fond of in the beginning. But, after several long conversations about habits they hate and their life generally, they have connected on a far deeper level.

As Victoria continued to sob into her, Lola began to gently poke her, trying to gain her attention. However she still continued to sob uncontrollably.

"Hey, hey. Victoria. Victoria. Who did this to you? What happened?"

She buries her head farther into the crook of her neck and mutters softly, "It was Samantha. She hates me."

No it couldn't be. Thoughts began to wildly race through Lola's head just like a pack of lions sprinting through the warm savannas. She suddenly became a bit bloodthirsty and was ready to attack. Her anger boiled like one a lioness ready to defend her child or loved one. In this case, she was ready to convert into a warrior for Victoria.

"How could she? Why would she? That's no fair! You're so kind and-"

"She thinks I stole her boyfriend. Riley."

Her mind was about to explode at this moment. She had no idea how to react. The girl she's known since middle school was a bully? She was the girl who refused to walk past ants in fear of stepping on them. But instead of trying to dig further, she asks another question.

"Do your parents know?"

There was a pause and then Victoria looked her straight in the eye, "Parent."

"What?"

"Parent. I don't have a father."
