"Fingerprint here, and here." The officer directed. I dipped my fingers in the red dye and placed on the paper in the appropriate box for each finger, somehow smudging the ring finger because of how giddy I was. Toady was finally my day to leave, but then again, I have yet to do my two years of community services, which sucks. "And sign." He said with a bored tone, handing me the pen. I huffed and took the pen, writing my name.
"You act like I want to be here." I started. "I don't." I slammed the pen onto the table and leaned back with a sigh. "I want to be back home, chilling on the couch, eating Ruffel's and Resses, gossiping about the bitch who had her third child already with Felix. I wanted that for the past half year an-"
"Yeah, yeah, I don't care about your little back story. Just get dressed and hand back the orange jumper." He rudely interrupted, catching me by suprise. Shocked, I reached out for the thing that was in my back pocekt, and it seemed to be a plastic kinfe. Lucky me.
"Pardon me?" I said, inching closer to him with the kinfe directed towards the center of his neck. "Who do you think you are, interpreting me like you own the place? Tell me, do you own the place?" I asked. He suddenly was shaking in his seat, having trouble to find the words to reply with.
"N-no I, don't! I-I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry, just please don't kill me!" He pleaded, turning his head with his eyes shut. I laughed with a sigh, going back into my seat and putting the plastic item back into my pocekt. I got up and streached, and left the room, still chuckling.
"Don't act up when you don't know how to back it up child~" I sang and went to the changing room that had a bag placed on the table. I belive my clothes and phone is in there. I took the items out of the bag and it was my things. I quickly stripped out of the orange jumpsuit and got into my old clothes that fit me perfectly, unlike the jumpsuits that were too big for me. I looked at the mirror that was propped on the wall, patting down my hair.
"A little wrinkled, but it'll do...Who am I kidding? It has to, you fool." I mumbled, grabbing what else is mine in the plastic bag, and left the room, putting on my earings and bracelets.
I left the room, seeing the officer waiting for me on the wall. He cuffed my hand and lead me out of the prison.
"Hold on," I stated, looking back and scanning the prison for a speical person. "I need to say goodbye to someone." He let go of me and I ran off, looking up and down for that person. I went out to the courtyard, but they weren't there. I ran back to the cafeteria, and they weren't there eirther. They weren't even on one of the tables inside. Shit. Where is she?
The last place to check was the cell, and there she was, looked back at the old letters her son gave her.
"Yang," I started, fidgeting with my fingers.
"You're leaving already?" She asked, not looking away from the letters.
"Sadly." I repiled. Finally, she put the letters down and looked at me with a smirk.
"Have fun then. Don't do anything that will cause you to come back." She said. I looked at her confused.
"Don't you want me to stay or something?" I asked, placing my hand on my hip and bending my leg. She shook her head no.
"You're only like, what, 15? You have a life to live. I already wasted mine in here, so make the best of it while you still free out there. Hell, don't come back here."
"Oh..." I said, talking in how honest and sincere she's being. I looked down at my hands, staring at my wrists. I took off one of my bracelets, the beaded one and handed it to her. This bracelet, which is made out of black beads with one gold bead in the middle, was given to me by my grandmother when I was a little child, and I haven't took it off since then because it brings me such good luck, especially when I need it.
"Here," I said, averting eye contact. "It was given to me by my grandma- it was actually made by her, and it give me luck. Like a lucky charm bracelet." Yang took it out of my hand and eyed it carefully. "And it would be nice to share the luck with others."
"Thank you (Y/N)." She said in amazement. "Thank you a lot."
"Bye then." I waved and turned around, but was stopped.
"Hold on," I felt her tugging on my arm. I turned back around and faced her. "If you see my baby, tell him that I'm coming out one day, alright?" Tears were on the bridge of her eye lids. I've never seen this side of Yang- no one has because of her criminal record. But it's nice to know that she's just more than a person who's in prison for three counts of first degree murder, she's a human with emotions. A human who has a family on the other side waiting for her.
"I'm sure that you'll be able to tell him straight to his face and hug him one day." I replied, turning around and leaving the cell once and forever. I walked back to the officer who was waiting for me. He took me into a hallway that had a metal gate blocking the prison from the outside world. There, I saw everyone seated at a few seats, waiting anxiously to see me as a free man.
"If I were you, I wouldn't fuck up this introduction." The officer whispered in my ear. I looked at him with a small grin.
"Don't worry, I got this." I responded. A buzzer went off and the metal bars went up. The noise from the buzzer made everyone's eyes face my direction and stand up. I walked up to them, my grin only getting bigger.
"Hello, fools!" I exclamed, emphasizing the 'fools' just because I'm dramatic like that. My arms were wide open, so were Felix's and those were the only arms I ran into first. I jumped into his big arms, lifting myself up and wrapping my legs around his tiny waist, nuzzling my face into the crook of his neck, taking in his scent of that sweet cologne I love. The blonde trailed his arms around me and gave me a small squeeze, burying his face in my body and taking in my body heat. I parted from his neck to take a good look at him and his big goofy smile he had on.
"Holy fuck it's been a long ass time since I hugged you." I said, and his smile brightened with each word. I placed a small peck on his forehead as I was held above his head. "I miss you Felix."
"Miss you too (Y/N)." He put me down and did the same, placing a kiss on my forehead.
"And how about us?" I heard someone clear their throat beside us and saw Signe looking at us with her arms crossed over her chest and an eyebrow raised. "Apperently, we're only a figment of your imagination."
"Pft, in your wildest dreams." I repiled, walked up to her and was about to engulf her in a hug, until she swooped around under me, placing her forearm on the back of my neck and her foot in front of me so I could fall as she pushed me. I was caught off gaurd and fell on my butt, looking up at the brow haired girl as she smirked.
"Fuck you, I thought you were done with bullshit like that." I said and reached out for her arm. As I got up from the floor, Signe pulled me into a hug.
"I only got started, mate." I huffed and went to go say hi to the others. Finally, I'm reunited with my family, the people who I love more than anything. The people I'd give my all to without hesitation. Even if it meant I have to suffer.
"My days, Tati, that you?" I crouched down and looked at my younger sister. It's like she renovated herself completely while I was away. Having new sense of clothing, wearing a small bit of makeup, and....my hoop earings.
"Nooo, it's not." She said, sarcasm obvious in her choice of tone. I laughed, walking out the prison, ruffling my hand in her poofy hair. She only shooed my hand off, attempting to bite my finger. Ahh, I love my hetic family.....
(I find the phrase "I'm sipping tea in the hood/your neighborhood" so normal and oddly relaxing I don't even know why. It's probably because I'm a tea addict, and I could actually image myself Sutton down in like a big, red fancy chair, legs crossed, sipping on some Earl Grey tea in one of those fancy china's that has a small plate with them in a suit and tie, hair slicked back, a good posture, while there is chaos happening behind me. That would be dope....)
