jungkook walked back to the backstage and was immediately hugged by a teary-eyed youngjae.

"that was amazing, jungkook. i never knew you could sing like that." youngjae pats jungkook's back. "aigoo~ you made me cry."

jungkook leaned back and giggled at youngjae. youngjae gave him his phone and saw two texts from taehyung.

can you meet me up here?

jungkook looked at youngjae. "hyung, i'm—"

"alright, alright, go to him." youngjae cuts him off, smiling.

jungkook smiled back and nodded before rushing off. he walks up the stairs and was greeted by bangtan's manager. sejin.

"you must be this 'kookie' taehyungie always say." sejin gives him a smile and jungkook returned the smile. "go in, he's waiting for you."

"thank you." jungkook goes in and was greeted by a hug and screams.

"you did so well!!" the guy with the high-pitched voice said while hugging him.

jungkook suddenly felt shy from the compliment. his cheeks turned pink and hoseok immediately pinched his cheek.

jimin backed up and jungkook saw taehyung. hands in his pocket and giving him a smile. a proud smile.

taehyung approached jungkook and gave him a tight hug.

"i loved your performance so much." taehyung whispered in his ear.

'only my performance?' jungkook wanted to say but stopped himself.

"thanks, hyung."

"iya~ can you believe this kid? i almost cried!" seokjin exclaimed.

"what do you mean 'almost'?" namjoon frowned, staring at seokjin. "you really cried."

"shut up, namjoon." seokjin flipped his imaginary hair and turned to look at the stage.

jungkook and taehyung smiled as they sat on a chair.

"i'm sure you'll win," yoongi spoke up.

jungkook looks down. "i d-don't think so."

"be positive, kid!" hoseok chimed in.

"win or lose, at least you get to show your talent to others." taehyung put an arm around jungkook.

"yeah... i'm glad you all came though..."

"and we're glad to see an amazing performance." taehyung commented, smiling.
