When we woke up it was raining.

"Why does it always rain?" Carrie asked.

"We have to keep moving. I think I saw a building up ahead the other day. It seemed close."

"Why didn't you say something?"

"Because you would've been like, 'we can make it if we run' and I wasn't in the mood for running."

She laughed, "True."

We started packing up when Alex woke up.

He packed his bookbag.

It was a small black bookbag that he has paper, coloring books, crayons, and markers in.

He was so cute and he really loved drawing.

We started walking and he walked over and held my hand.

"Over there, see it?" I said pointing in the direction of the building.

"That's really far away." She said.

"Really, it doesn't seem that far." I said squinting to see it.

"It's a huge building. It's far away."

"Awesome."

"Perfect?" Alex asked.

He didn't talk much but when he did it was normally a question.

"Exactly." I smiled at him.

After half and hour of walking we got the the gates of the place.

It was a prison, the court yard full of walkers.

"We can climb the gate to get in the watch tower and started picking off the walkers one by one." I suggested.

"Lets do it." She smiled.

We tied Alex around Carries waste with a blanket and she started to climb the fence.

"There's barb wire." She said climbing back down.

"I can get rid of some of it." I said climbing up and pulling out the bolt cutters.

I leaned forward to get my balance before I let go of the fence.

I was centimeters from the wire when I cut a 2 foot piece off.

"I got it cut!" I yelled climbing into the guard tower.

"Great." She said making her way up.

"I'll go make sure the door downstairs is locked so nothing gets in."

"Be careful, yell if you need anything." She said layed down Alex's blanket.

I looked it with a bolt lock that I found the other week.

I got back up to see Carrie laying with Alex.

"We'll stay her tonight and try to take out some walkers tomorrow." She said once I layed down.

"Night, (N/N)." Alex said.

"Night Alex."

I woke up to the sound of people.

They weren't that loud but the walkers that heard them were.

I looked over at Carrie, still asleep with Alex.

I walked to the window thing and peered out.

I scanned over the people. They looked so familiar.
