"Are you serious! You think it's fine to just hangout with your ex, alone!" Jack yells.
"Yeah I do, when we are hanging out because we have a project we were assigned to do together!" I shoot back.
"You could have done it around here with me!" Jack argues.
I sigh, trying to calm down and figure out a way to defuse the situation.
"Look, yes he is my ex and yes we were alone but we talked about three subjects, the project, you, and his girlfriend. The only reason we even talked about you two was because we complimented each other screensavers. I'm sorry I didn't tell you in advance but we were assigned together," I calmly explain.
"I don't care! It is the point that you went behind my back and hung out with him!"
"How did I go behind your back? It was last minute and I am a 20 yearly old women who does not need your permission!"
"Your unbelievable Y/n! If I did that, you'd be pissed!" Jack screeches.
I just stay silent because either know he is partially right but also because I don't want to escalate the situation. Jack continues to yell things and I just tune it all out. He was kind of scaring me and I just wanted it to stop.
Jack throws his arms in the air and I instinctively flinch. Hurt flashes threw Jack's eyes and he goes silent.
"Did you...did you just flinch?" Jack quietly questions.
"It was just a reaction," I truthfully tell him.
Jack walks closer to me and slows down as he gets closer.
"Did you think I was going to h...hit you?
"It was a reaction Jack."
Hurt is flowing through his eyes. Guilt washes over me. He hesitantly walks over to me and wraps his arms around me.
"I would never do that to you. I promise you that," He whispers in my ear.
"I know it was an instinct."
"I'm sorry. It was a project and I should've trusted you more. I would never hurt you and I love you so much Y/n," Jack says.
"I forgive you and I love you too."
We stay entangled in each other's arms for awhile. We just sway back and fourth, both of us enjoying every second. We were in a bubble of love and trust, disconnected from the world, just how we like it.
