I walked into Target to get a present for my little cousins birthday. I grabbed a 'My Little Pony' action figure at the same time someone else did. I let go and looked to my right to see none other than Corbyn Matthew Besson

"Oh my god! Y/n?" He exclaims.

"Corbyn!" I say.

I give him a quick hug and smile at him once we pull away.

"How have you been?" He asks

"Okay I guess," I answer.

"That's good! I heard that you work for Vogue now."

"Yeah I started a few months ago and it's great! I heard Why Don't We came out with it's third album, congrats!"

"Thank you, thank you. SO what were you doing going for the 'My Little Pony' thing?"

"It's a birthday present. how about you?"

"Zach's sister wanted one for her birthday."

"Sure Corbs, like you don't want it for you," I tease jokingly.

"Hey! You weren't supposed to tell people," He jokingly whispers.

"Well I would love to stay and chat but I have to get going to her party. We should meet up for coffee sometime," I suggest.

"That'd be fun! Here put your number in my phone," Corbyn says.

I do so and we say our goodbyes. I grab the toy and pay for it before leaving to the party with a big smile. When I arrive, I am instantly greeted with many tiny children. I occupy them and sneak off you find my older cousin. We go in her room to talk.

"So I saw Corbyn!" I announce.

She gasps: "The one that got away!" She exclaims.

"Yeah he looks pretty much the same. His hair was a bit longer, hist arms look a little stronger, his eyes are still beautiful, and his smile's just a little softer," I explain.

"Did you get his number?"

"Well I gave him mine and were meeting for coffee sometime so I hope we can reconnect from there."

"I hope so! You guys seemed so happy when you were together an  look at you now! You're still smiling and blushing!"

I shake my head but continue to smile. She was right.

"It's so weird seeing him though. I just never prepared for a moment like that. I mean a second and it all came back. Even after all these years, I still feel everything when he is near. And I mean it was just a quick hello and I had to go but he'll probably never even know that he's still the one I'm after."

"Oh shush! He probably feels the same way. I mean come on, your Y/n Y/ln. The one that got away for him. He was so in love with you," My cousin argues.

"I hope so," I say.

A few days later, I looked Instagram to see that Corby refollowed me. I smiled at my phone and looked through the pictures. We had our coffee thing today and I was so excited. I stop scrolling when I saw the picture of him and a girl. It was captioned 'Christina never fails at making me smile. I love you baby!' My smile faded and all of the hopes of us getting back together disappeared.

I decided to suck it up and still meet him. After 15 minutes of me squeezing my fat ass into ripped jeans, I left to meet Corbyn. He was already there so I just joined his table.

"Hey Y/n, you look beautiful as always," Corbyn greets.

"Hey Corbs," I greet back.

"I ordered you ou favorite, a Y/fav/d."

"Awe you remembered!" I exclaim.

"So I don't know about you but I feel like we should start over? I've really missed you Y/n..."

"What about Christina?"

"We broke up awhile ago. The truth is even after all these years, I never got over you. I tried dating and me and Christina stuck around for awhile but I realized that it was only because she lived in New York. She wasn't around and it felt like I didn't have a girlfriend. I also realized I still had feelings for you..."

"Well then yes, I would love to start over," I accept while reaching out my hand to hold his.

"Then this is our first official date. Want to go to an arcade after?"

"Just like our first, first date," I remember.

"Only this one will be better because I already know that you suck at games so I have to help you," Corbyn teases with a smile.

"Ya never know, I've been practicing," I challenge.

"Well let this be our first game. First one to the arcade down the street wins!" Corbyn quickly says while throwing money on the table.

I won.
