The minutes ticked by slower than 60 seconds at a time.

7:07pm

7:08pm

7:09pm

"Ma'am, do you want to order or the check?" The sympathetic waitress asked.

"Um can I have a refill on my Pepsi? He should be here soon," I sadly smile.

The women nods before taking my cup and going back to the kitchen. I sighed and looked down at my phone. Of course, no text, I thought.

"Sorry I'm late," I hear an unfamiliar voice apologize.

I looked up and see a cute yet unknown boy shooting me the most adorable hair and smile. I quirked my eyebrow up at him but nonetheless returned the smile.

"Um, and you are?" I lightly laughed.

"I am Jack Avery, or the guy that saw the super cute girl sitting here and waiting for a jackass and decided to stop being a baby and go for it," The boy, or Jack explained.

"Well, let's get some facts straight. 'The girl' is named Y/n, hi hello, how are you? And 'the jackass' is named Kyle who is indeed a jackass," I smile.

"Okay then, Y/n, could I please join you for dinner?" Jack asks with a grin.

"Seeing as you went through so much trouble and Kyle isn't coming, yes," I agree.

The same waitress comes over with a big smile. She sets down my Pepsi and retrieves her notebook out of her apron pocket.

"A little late are we?" She jokes with Jack

"Um yes, work gave me a last minute thing but I am here now," Jack lies.

"Are you ready to order?" She asks.

"I already made her wait so yes," Jack tells her.

Jack and I walked outside of the restaurant and looked at eachother with large smiles. After talking for 2 hours, dinner was over but I didn't want it to end.

"I don't wanna go home," I jokingly put.

"Than don't" Jack shrugs.

"What do you mean," I ask.

"Go home later, let's go for a walk now," He suggests.

I nod and Jack grabs my hand before leading me to wherever.

"Why did you sit with me?" I ask as we begin our walk.

"I don't know honestly. I was taking a walk to clear my head and I walked passed the restaurant and saw you. It seems stalkerish but I don't know. I saw you looking sad and glancing at your phone and something honestly just pulled you to me. I went in, sat down and we started talking," Jack cheesily smiled.

"Yeah sure, now what actually happened?" I laughed.

"No I swear, that's what happened," Jack laughed.

"I'll believe you this time..." I grin

"This time? So there will be a next?" Jack questions.

"I mean I hope so but that's up to you."

"Then there will be," Jack said, smiling down at me.
