I rolled over and sighed before giving up on the idea of sleep. I turned on my phone, blinding myself, and look at the displayed time: 3:08. I turned off my only light source and turned over to look at my sleeping boyfriend.

His curly hair was everywhere and his tiny snores were like a steady rhythm. I smiled and carefully moved a curl out of his face. I quietly lifted the comforter off of me and tip-toed out of the room.

I made my way downstairs and grabbed a water bottle. I sat on the counter stool and took slow sips while playing with the ring on my finger.

I looked down at the ring and smiled at the engraved word.

Forever

"What are you nervous about? You only play with it if you're nervous?" Jack sleepily asked me while snaking his arms around my waist.

"You," I answered.

"Why are you worried about me?" Jack questioned.

"I worried about you not wanting me forever. Not wanting this forever. Not wanting to constantly worry about me forever or put up with my stress forever."

Jack removed his arms and sat on the stool across from me.

"Forever means for all future time; for always. I want you you for all suture time and for always. I want to be able to, laugh with you, cry with you, worry about you, stress with you, and love you forever. Forever isn't just a cute thing we say because we are cutesy, it's a promise that we make to each other, is it not?"

"It is."

"So you never have to worry because I don't break promises and I promise you I will love you forever."
