Detroit here i was. It was the night of the game and i was wearing my detroit pistons crop top with black leggings and my hair curled. I got to the arena as Luke wanted me to meet his team.
I actually may have cried when i met Blake Griffin. Literally he was so sweet.
I sat down in my courtside seat and the boys occasionally would come over and talk to me. I then saw someone walking over.
Oh. My. Gosh.
"You are wearing the wrong shirt" I heard him say as i looked up to see a smile.
"I think its pretty cool" I replied and he smiled.
"Maybe we will have to change that" He said.
"Maybe" I replied with a smirk.
"Im Lauri" He said putting his hand out.
"Hannah" I said as he shook my hand.
"Well my team wants me back, but ill see you later?" He said.
"Sure" I said with a smile.
Luke looked at me and i shook my head saying its not what it looks like.
The game went on and the pistons beat the bulls. I cheered for my pistons but everytime Lauri made a basket he looked at me and let me tell you, the reporters noticed too. It was like i was under one big spotlight because the nba rookie looked at me.
"So you seeing that one kid later?" Luke asked with a smirk.
"Doubt it, hes too busy for a girl like me" I said.
"Watch what you say" Luke said moving over a bit.
"Wha-" I was cut off by seeing Lauri coming over.
Luke smiled walking away.
"Dinner on me?" Lauri asked.
"Cant pass up food" I said with a laugh as we walked to his car.
He opened the door for me as we got into his car. We then drove to the nearest olive garden.
They put us in a back booth as requested so hopefully nobody would notice.
"Where are you from?" He asked starting a conversation.
"I got to college at Duke in North Carolina" I said.
"Ah you go to school with the prized basketball team" He said.
"I guess so" I replied and he laughed.
"And you havent gotten locked down by one of the star players?" He asked looking at me.
"Well i did but he cheated so im just doing me" I replied resting my chin in my hand.
"Oof, anybody that cheats on you must be crazy" He said and i smiled as butterfly's formed in my stomach.
"Single life isnt so bad" I replied.
"I guess not" He said back.
"Is that your baby?" I asked seeing his phone light up with a picture of a small baby boy.
"Yeah" He replied with a smile.
"Dang Lauri you get straight to the point" I said looking at him.
"The university of Arizona is crazy, dont ask" He said with a laugh.
"Okay then" I replied.
We ate dinner and then drove around for a while.
"Still a pistons fan?" He asked with a smile stopping at my hotel.
"Dubs all around me" I said laughing.
"You are something else" He said with a laugh.
"I guess so" I replied as our eyes locked.
He leaned in as did i. Suddenly our lips met. Moving in sync it felt magical. Something i missed. Did i regret it? Definetly not.
"Lauri i should go" I replied looking at the time.
"I want to see you again" He said looking at me
"Same here" I replied as he typed his number in my phone and i did the same.
"Goodnight Lauri"
"Goodnight Hannah" He said kissing me once more at the hotel steps.
Was this what i wanted? Or was it just because i needed someone?
