Chapter 9: After those years

"What's up?" sargent Mamalangkay ask. I just shook my head as an answer and took myself a cup of creamed coffee.

"Anong oras tayo lalakad?" tanong niya.

"Right after breakfast," I answered.

After doing such morning rituals ay umarangkada na kami sa mga plano naming dalawa. Gaya ng napagkasunduan ay sa University siya nagtungo to talked with Czarina's friend while I am heading North for Timothy, Czarina's man.

9:45 AM, na nang marating ko ang apartment ni Timothy. It was neat and he has a lot of neighbors, there were also pine trees here, such a nice place to live with.

I just parked the car fifteen meters away from the said apartment. I was about to get out when my phone suddenly rang due to some call.

"Nasa lugar ka na?" It was just my partner. I answer her, yes and told her that I will just beep her for my outcome.

I got out from the car and walk like I am really new on this place, act like I am lost and looking for something.

There's a man having a jog towards my direction and he's flashing me his morning smile.

"Miss? How may I help you?" a young and tall man ask me —still catching his breath. He has this well tuned muscles that a woman is dreaming to touch and caress.

"Uhm, is this the OakVille Village?" I ask him. He nodded politely to me.

I ask him if he knows Timothy but he said no, so I ask him another question if he know Mrs. Peri and then he answered me with a yes and told me that Mrs. Peri is a terror looking old woman who has a bright red hair and lipstick and she can be founded in the same apartment where Timothy is living.

Tinandaan ko lahat ng sinabi niya sa akin, and when I saw an old woman walking down stairs of this apartment ay kaagad kong nilapitan at tinanong if she's really Mrs. Peri and luckily, she is.

"I just want to ask some questions maam about my friends, Czarina and Timothy," I told her.

Tinasan niya ako ng kilay at halatang nagsisimula na siyang magtaray.

"Timothy? The owner of that stinky apartment upstairs?" Napakunot ang noo ko rito.

"Stinky apartment? What do you mean by that madam?"

"Five days now and I am kinda smell some odd smells coming from his apartment. It was like a rotten garbage or a rotten dead meat. I wish that was him who's rotting inside so that I couldn't hear his annoying loud metal music any longer! And their loud quarrels of her girlfriend," Oh, Jesus, forgive him for saying these all, this might be just out of her annoyance.

"They are not in good term during the past weeks?"

"No, they are always like that. The lady will end up shouting and crying, I can almost hear it every night but when morning came the poor lady would just act that nothing happens at night and continued her life like it's just normal to be beaten at night," she told me the story I haven't read from the reports that the President gave us.

"You mean, every single day she was beaten?-"

"No, she's not literally beaten every single day but there are days that I saw the woman with bruises. The couple were just quarrelling every night because of Timothy's bad habit but there were times that they are in good terms, but then I can say that it's not a healthy relationship for the lady anymore," as she continued.
