Chapter 11: The Truth

"Who the hell are you?" I growled to the intruder who's larger than me.

This isn't my partner.

I am ready to shoot him if may gawin man siyang opensa pero nang hinarap niya ako ay nanlaki na lamang ang mga mata ko at maging siya ay ganoon din.

Kapwa kami hindi nakapagsalita dahil sa gulat sa nangyari. Paano? Bakit?

Tila ba nanlambot ang mga kamay kong may hawak sa baril kaya naibaba ko ito nang wala sa oras.

Nagtataka ko siyang binalingan ng tingin at halos hindi ako makapaniwala. Hindi kaya pinaglalaruan lamang ako ng aking mga mata? O, siya talaga ang itong nakikita ko? Pero bakit?

Chapter 11: The Truth

"Long time no see," he uttered then smiled at me.

Tila ba nawalan ako ng tinik sa lalamunan at kaagad na nahinga nang maayos. His dimples made it.

"H-hendrix...long time so see," halos pabulong ko nang sabi.

I put the gun away from his sight dahil panay ang tingin niya rito, na sa tingin ko'y nagpakaba sa kanya.

"Hmm..you seem so relieved knowing that I was not Henrik. Is there something that I need to know?" he curiously asked.

I just shook my head even if he was really right. I just don't have the guts to take that idea.

"What are you doing here, by the way?" I asked him out of my curiosity because I don't really have a goddamn idea of how he did get in here.

Is the sergeant already here? Or he's my new partner? But hell, he's a pilot...

The opened and we both gave our glance to the persons whom just entered the room. I smiled weakly and then let myself to be stoic as I saw Henrik, Daniela, and the Sargeant entering the room.

"Could someone please tell me what's going on?" I asked while looking at the Sargeant.

"Aren't you going to welcome me first? I just came back...for you," she said then winked at me.

I rolled my eyes at her, "how sweet are you, Sargeant, then, welcome back. Now, tell me what's going on."

"Why do you have that bad temper this early in the morning? Does that dimpled guy crawled you on the bed?"

"Thalia, enough of the bad jokes. It's not funny," Henrik said and headed directly to where Hendrix is.

Silence enveloped us until Daniella broke it.

"You didn't tell us that she's your partner," she asked Thalia -the Sargent.

"You didn't ask me," the Sargent quickly answered before leaving Daniela and I, facing each other at a distance.

She goes near me then smiled and kissed my cheek.

Pansin ko na magaan na ang turing niya sa kin at wala na yong Daniella na nakausap koi sang gabi nag alit sa akin at parang takot pa sa maaari kong gawin.

"I'm glad to see you again. Umm...about to your question earlier, we rode the private plane of the dela Conde's which landed at the same airport nang pinaglandingan ng sinakyan ni Thalia. Basically, we saw each other and she invited us here. I hope you won't mind, don't worry, we'll book a hotel later. We're just here for business matters, maybe, next week we'll fly to the Philippines again," Daniekka explained to me.

I just nodded and gave her a smile.

"Sure thing, feel at home," I said before leaving her in the position to help her fiancee on whatever he's doing in that kitchen.
