Normally I don't update this late no matter the day but I've seen something that I wanted to have a quick word about because let's be real, this whole thing has just become me ranting and raving on about useless bullshit.
When was the last time I actually did a section on myself?

If we don't count the 'serious talk' on the 5th, then it was nearly two months ago. Wow. Ok.

Anyway, so something came up in my newsfeed; a story someone was reading. Well actually now that I think of it, there was another one I saw and I may as well include it in this.

I know people do this kinda thing in their rant books all the time and I'm not here to criticise your book names.

No, I'm here to criticise your spelling.

Yesterday I saw a book title that had the word 'murderer' spelt wrong. Not only in the title, but also on the cover.

It's not spelt 'merderer'. I'm just saying, if you spell something in the title wrong, then it's setting the tone for the rest of the book, no?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I just don't get how you can spell something wrong in the title. If you don't know how to spell something, either look it up in a dictionary, online, or use a different Goddamn word.

(I'm trying to tone down my swearing).

Then earlier on, I saw something with the words 'me gotz' in the title and it was an actual fanfic story, not a bio.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this?

It's in the freakin' title guys! You sound like a damn six year old. Hell, even a six year old could spell and speak better.

It's like those people who write bios and purposely type like this:

'Dis picture ish meh'
'You ish pretty'

That kinda 'cutsie' bullshit. Most people who do this sound like idiots. You're also most likely a teenager. I'm sorry but it doesn't make you sound cute at all.
It makes you look and sound like an uneducated moron.

Yes that is very harsh but grammar is dying at a very fast rate.
I knew someone in school who had trouble pronouncing the word 'enough'. Guess what? She got higher marks than me in creative writing because she was the teacher's favourite. She couldn't spell for shit yet she got higher marks.

Bias!!

The point I'm trying to make is that it's not that freakin' hard to learn how to spell correctly. I'm very glad I know how to spell correctly.

But let's be real, if I couldn't, I'd probably get more reads on here because for some reason, especially in the fanfic area, people like myself who give a shit about what we're doing, actually put time into keeping up our craft, making sure we edit things over and over, making sure everything is spelt right (with the occasional typo, but even the published authors have this issue), get pushed down the list.

I don't know why. You'd think people would like well-written things.

I'm not here to say I'm better at this than anyone, or that everyone should read my stuff because I'm just that great.

No, I'm here to say that at least I have a vague idea of what I'm doing.

At least I don't spell my story titles wrong!!!!

Anyway.
Rant over.
Have a good day/night.

{Edit: 20/03/18}

So normally I don't do this kind of thing because I don't like ripping on other people's works and all that Jazz, but I wanted to show you all an excerpt of one of these stories I was talking about.

I will not be naming names, I will not be naming the story.
This is in no way intentional to hurt anyone or diss anyone's works. Just know that the person who wrote this has been on here for roughly seven years and their bio is written in the same way.

This is an actual story. I don't know when it was last updated and frankly, I don't care. This could go into an entire new rant which it may, so hold onto your hats ladies and gentlemen.

Once again, this is not to hurt anyone. This is not to humiliate anyone. If you've read this story, please do not say what it is, who wrote it or anything like that. I don't want the author to feel bad.
This is just an example of what I was saying before about the title setting the feel of the story.

As always when I see a bad story title I click through out of curiosity.

If you haven't already, would you read this is you saw it:

I've specifically blanked out parts of it because I don't want the whole thing there

I've specifically blanked out parts of it because I don't want the whole thing there.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful in any way.

I just want to say that these are the kinds of stories that put people like yours truly out of business.

Just because it's fanfic, doesn't mean it has to be written this way or written badly.
I get it, some people can't write well.
Then teach yourself. Don't purposely write like the above to try and be 'cute' or 'funny' or 'random' or whatever else you might think you're being.

This kinda thing pisses me right off.

If people didn't know already, I'm very big on writing. I take things to heart when it comes to it, and when I constantly see this type of thing, I actually get quite offended.

It's hard to explain why but I feel rather disrespected when people take writing, even fanfic, as a joke.

If you're gonna write this way, like the above, then you shouldn't be writing at all. Just because you're on a 'writing' website, doesn't mean you have to write. You can just read.

I know a lot of people on here do. If you don't have the heart to write, I'm sure a lot of people, including myself, would prefer that you didn't, instead of making the serious writers get pushed down further and further because you feel obliged to write this stuff.

I know it comes off harsh, but don't write if you're not in it for the long run. Sorry.

Opinions are welcome. Even if they're just to call me a fuckwit and a rude motherfucker.

Sorry that I actually care about literature. You wouldn't buy a book written like that, would you? So why would you write one? Why would you read one?

I don't get it.
Sometimes I do truly wonder why I bother with writing my stuff because there're so many people out there that don't appreciate it. I know there are a lot of you that do and I love you all for it, but it just really gets to me that I've struggled on here for the last 4 years, 5 come this November, and this kinda stuff still gets worshipped and pushed up further and further. I've had long conversations with people about this. Yes I know it's because I love writing. But man oh man does it grind my gears when this shit is the popular ones and I still struggle even though I put my heart and soul into all of my works.

It's honestly disgraceful and I don't get it.

But anyway, nothing I can do about it. I just come off as an angry, jealous prick.

This has turned very bitter.
I'll leave you all with your thoughts and I will try to update something more positive the next time I dare to show up.

Have a good one until I ruin your mood again.
