You Could Just...Take It Down...? (07/07/18)

Ok, so I may have just been browsing the fanfic area and I may have come across something that I have seen before but since I don't dwell in the fanfic tags much anymore I forgot about it and I haven't seen it in a while.

Don't judge me for looking for actually good fanfics because now I really wanna read a few stories about a few different people but as per usual, I have come across...fuck all.

If any of you out there happen to know any good fanfics that are actual stories and not the usual bullshit that we all come across (you know what I'm talking about and I assume by now you'd all know the people I would like to read about), then let me know, please?

Ok, so this thing I came across right?

I was browsing the ronnieradke tag and came across this one. As usual it was an adoption story...or maybe it was something else, I've already forgotten, but for the sake of this, let's say it was an adoption story. Actually now that I think about it, I don't actually know what kinda story it was...

So normally the blurb, or 'description' if you for some reason don't know what a blurb is, was all in capital letters and read something along the lines of (not directly quoted because that makes me a horrible person for calling out writers on here):

"DON'T EVEN READ THIS STORY; IT'S ABOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND I WAS A YOUNG AND DESPERATE CHILD WHEN THIS WAS WRITTEN; DON'T READ IT BECAUSE YOU WILL LOSE I.Q. POINTS IF YOU DO."

Haven't ever thought of taking it down instead of actually leaving it there?

I mean, let's be fucking real here guy and gals. Let me give you a piece of advice real quick, if you'd be so kind as to let me.

If you are not proud of your story anymore, if you do not like your story anymore, if you are ashamed of your story and don't want people to read it, then you should just take it down.

If you don't want to take it down because you still kinda like it but you're a bit embarrassed about it, then maybe start by editing it and making it better. There is no harm in that.

If you can't fix it and are still ashamed of it or embarrassed, maybe ask someone to help you edit your story because someone else may be able to shed a bit more light on it with what you could do with editing and making it better.

A second perspective isn't always bad.

But if you're someone like myself who won't dare let anyone tough my precious works, then you're gonna have to either push that aside or figure it out for yourself. Other people can help if you get stuck. I'm serious.

Just because I like to work independently and not let anyone write my story for me because they don't know what I want out of my works, doesn't mean that you guys can't ask for help if you seriously hate your story.

As always, yes I'm open to helping. I've done it before and I'm more than happy to help anyone with advice or editing etc. etc. etc.

I'm not preaching or trying to be great, I just like helping when people don't know what to do or where they should go and all that kinda bullshit. Etc. etc. etc.

Back to the point.

If you seriously hate your story, either take it down or edit it. Don't just leave it up there and add it into the blurb about how terrible it is and whatnot because let's be freakin' real here kids, if you're not doing anything about it, whether it's taking it down or editing it, and you're just telling people not to read it, that's a bit of an indication that you actually possibly do want people to read it and either say how bad it is so you can then laugh at it as well, or you want people to read it and say how great it is and fuel your ego ten times more as you lie and say how much you truly hate it.

On this topic as well though, something I was thinking was that I was gonna take down Hunted and Dead and Buried because I'm truly not proud of them anymore; I'm actually more embarrassed about them and every time someone adds either to their reading list or whatever, I get really uncomfortable and wonder why they chose those ones instead of the other works I actually like.

I want opinions on this truly because I'm really thinking of taking them down but I don't know if people will want me to because they actually liked them or not. I just don't like the concept anymore if I'm being 100% honest.

Opinions are welcome and encouraged.

Also, I promise that I am working on stuff for upcoming stories and current ones, I've just had a tough week this week and really need time to sit down and work on this stuff. I'm doing the character card edits at the moment and it will take a long time to do all of them, so I'm gonna do all the ones for the Outcast Series first and then see where we go from there.

Would you like to see one? One that I have so far? Only one though, because I'll put the others in once I've finished and they'll have separate parts for each CU in here.

You can get a view of the one I did for Ashley since he was basically the main character in the sixth one and he's also kinda the main in the seventh. I hope it looks ok; I'm working on the one for Ronnie at the moment. I was doing them with the more 'updated' pics because I wanted to give them a more 'present' feel to them so it's like we're keeping up with the series if that makes sense.

I'm gonna do a bit of writing in a bit once I've done this edit and the one for Vic. I don't know when number seven will be out yet because I want to get a lot more of it written than I already have and so when I get closer to the time that I wanna put it up (seeing as I said no more until current ones on my profile are finished) there will be a part in here about it that I would like interested people to take a look at.

I don't know how far off that is yet though, so don't hold you breath plz.

I'm gonna work hard on TBL and finish off Mirrors as well very soon; Mirrors is getting closer and closer to the end so it will hopefully be a lot sooner for the two of them to be done and then I can get some new ones out.
