Hello!

Yes, it's that time of the year again where I recommend my favourite things from the year; may have either added or cut certain categories out again this year, as I did last year.

As per usual, it's Christmas here in the Australia, so I for some reason upload my top picks on this day, or my birthday which was this time last week, but you get the point.

It was a really tough one for me this year, as I have a very big list of songs, music videos, albums, etc etc to choose from, so this may be the first year that there may be more than one in amongst the category. It's a very hard decision this year. I will actually link the songs and music videos this year to make your job easier.

So, let's get into it!

Album of the Year: Disguise by Motionless in White

Yes, another year of me being nice and bias towards MIW. But for real, this album was incredible, it is amazing and I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to get into their stuff, or for anyone who hasn't heard their stuff in general.

Every song on this album is phenomenal and it was very hard for any other album that came out this year, to come close to the perfection that is Disguise. The music videos they've released for the few songs from this album are awesome as well.

The link is going to be the title track from this album so you get a bit of a feel for what this album is like if you decide to give it a go. I hope you do!

I highly recommend it. Is it really TheWalkingDaryl's Top Picks if MIW don't make it in there at some point?

Worst Album of the Year: Who Do You Trust? by Papa Roach

This hurts for me to type that. Anyone who knows much about me, will know that Papa Roach are one of my all time favourite bands and so for them to end up in this category, is a damn tragedy.

Now, don't get me wrong, the album isn't the worst I've ever heard, it's just not...great. It feels mediocre at best, like they felt like they had to release an album and quickly put something together.

It feels rushed and half-hearted. I mean, in the words of my mother 'it's a good effort'.

This one just didn't do it for me this time around. Obviously, I'll be buying all their albums regardless, but this is one I won't be listening to very often. It might be right up some people's alley, but this one just wasn't for me.

Go give it a listen and decide for yourself.

Artist of the Year: Ice Nine Kills

Now we're getting into the bias time. I can already guarantee that these perfect people will make it into this at least 4 times this year, so we can all see where my bias swings this year.

For real though, if you haven't checked INK out, I cannot recommend them enough. They are absolutely amazing in every way and I can't say enough good things about them.

As cliche as it is, they've really changed my life over the pat 12 months and are now my second-most seen band live, coming in at 3 times this year. I got my first tattoo nearly 2 months ago now, and it was a song lyric from one of INK's songs, so some might say I like them a bit.
