I'm sure many people have once again see this before, but as usual, this kiddo has to put their two-cents in because that is what I do.

So, we all know what a 'blurb' is? *nods head* yes?
The description of a story, for those of you who did not and have never heard this absurd word before in your life.

This is a very important part of a story; if your readers have no idea what your book is about...how will you get readers?

If you can't make a description...well, there is an issue.

Now, we all know I hate naming and shaming, which is why my beautiful example, I have decided to blank out things that can possibly tell you who it is and what the story is.

This to me, is not a blurb; this isn't gonna hook me in to get me to read.

This to me, is lazy.
I'm sorry, but it is.
This is zero effort. You just describing your character and then telling me to 'read and find out'...yeah nah mate.

That line is mildly insulting to me; I don't know why. It just is. Makes me mad too.

So, I will use my own terrible blurbs to show you what it should vaguely look like. As long as you give a short take of the story, we all good in the hood.

See the difference? This gives the overview without giving away the storyline; it doesn't give away too much or not enough

(I started writing this over lunch today and it's now after 10pm and I realised that I hadn't finished it oops.)

The issue with a lot of blurbs is that most on here aren't compelling; nothing draws readers in.

But also, because of the lack of creativity and good blurbs, the good ones, much like the fanfics on here, get overshadowed and stepped on.

Idk where I was going with this.
I have to take off so until next time!

What's the worst blurb you've had the displeasure of reading?
