Children part 12

That night, her soul returns to her body and she wakes up in the orphanage.

The man is taking her blood.

"Where's Yun-He?" She asks.

The man looks at her weirdly and replies "He's dead."

"His body?"

"The dogs in the backyard didn't have any food to eat, so I fed it to the dogs."

Her eyes became dangerous, she throws herself at the man. She remembered what the demon said to her in the dream. She clenched her hand into a fist.

A blue light flashes by and something appears in her hand. A strange object, looking like a staff. Lightning starts to flash. Her eyes are soaked in hatred and tears. She tightens her grip on the staff and brings it down hard on the man.

The man starts to scream and twist in pain. When the staff lands on his body, it starts to burn with fire and his body is rotting away.

The fire starts to spread, burning the building. This place is full of sin.

She's just a human, using the staff is very costing on her body. But right now, all she wants to do is to burn this place down..........

Although the evil spirit has grown stronger by feeding on her blood, it's still no match for the staff after it got soaked in her blood.

Along the dark hallways in the orphanage, children start to run in panic. Spirits begin to flee and the evil spirits are wailing in pain.

3 times only?

She laughs deeply.

Her soul could be destroyed? She welcomes death and wants to die more than anyone.

Someone is waiting for her, there's no big deal in death. Soul destroyed? So what?

She stands there like a vengeful spirit from hell, her hair is down, draping over her shoulder. She runs after the evil spirit.

Her blood is dripping all over the floor.

Fire has spread to all levels in the building.

She tries to look for Yun-He. The basement is on fire, the pile of corpse is burning, the entire orphanage is burning.

There are horrible screams everywhere and the dogs are barking.

Then, she got out and collapse on the grass in front of the orphanage.

Fire trucks and ambulances arrive and it's a total chaos.

It's raining.......it's rain......

Yun-He, where are you???

Someone holds an umbrella above her.

She looks so familiar........

She's a woman with short hair. That woman's tears fall into her wounds and the bleeding stops.

"Yun-He........"

She tries to hold onto the lady's leg.

Her tears stream down her face and fall into the grass.

".......Yun-He .......he's still inside........"

She starts to cry, all the strength are drained from her body.

The woman leans down, she holds onto her hand she shakes her head.

Her body is in excruciating pain.........she finally lost herself to the darkness.

3 months later, she finally wakes up.

"Do you remember anything?" A doctor looks into her eyes with a small flashlight.

She looks at him with confusion.

"Do I need to remember anything?"

"Well, name. Let's start with your name."

"My name is Jin Seon Mi."

"And, what is the last thing you could remember?"

"I remember that yesterday, my little cousin Mi-Joo fell into the water?" She replies in confusion.

Outside the door.

"Seon Mi lost her memories?"

"If it's like that, then it's really fortunate!!!"

"This child is really a cursed one.........how could an orphanage just burn down like that?!"

"It's not a simple fire, they said that they dug up a lot of children's corpse in the basement......."

"Should we find her another place to live?"

"Are you crazy?! All the neighbours are gossiping now!!"

"Then what should we do ?!!"

"How about this......."

The 12-year-old Jin Seon Mi is now living by herself in a new place.

Due to her uncle's resentment toward her, all the adults in the family contributed some money and asked her to move out by herself. They said something big happened and she lost her memories when she was in 6th grade. Although she's now in high school, she is working hard to earn money by tutoring other people.

She would go to school and return home by herself. She is isolated, she learns to cook and look after herself. She learns to say good morning and good night to herself every day.

One day, she walks past a shop that sells drinks and deserts.

"What would you like to have, young lady?"

A gentleman asks.

She passes him a very wrinkled note and said : "please give me a cup of strawberry ice cream."

She sits down in the shop and starts to watch the TV.

She doesn't have a TV at home.

The news is playing. The Sacred Heart orphanage is receiving more donation and is to be rebuilt to provide care to more children.

"Ice cream is ready."

The man says.

"Thank you!"

She sits there alone and starts eating.

This feels weird.......

It feels like she's had this ice cream before??
