A heart for a heart part 3

The owner of the tteoboki store was passed down from the boss lady to her son.

She still loves to eat spicy tteoboki and he would, of course, let her do what she wants.

Because this is close to New year, the store is bustling with people.

"Would you like to order couple set, friend set or......." The owner of the store asks.

"Family set, and a cup of beer." He replies.

She lifts her head and looks at him. She raises her eyebrows slightly in surprise. At that moment, her heart feels warm.

This is the first time they came back to this store after she woke up. She remembers back then, after 25 years of waiting, her fairy-nim wanted to eat Samjang. He promised to fulfill all of her wishes. Out of generosity, he brought her here and they had a meal of spicy tteoboki.

Back then, he wasn't allowed to drink.

But back then, he became her family, friend, and lover.

Family set........

Her lips secretly arch upward and smile.

That's right. Even without the so-called ceremonies, he really did become a family who would be there next to her and share all her moments of happiness and bitterness.

She looks at him as he drinks his beer to quench the spiciness from the tteoboki.

She opens her hand. On the day when she woke up, the ring he gave her is no longer here.

Where is it? She can't remember at all. When she was a ghost, the ring was still on her hand. But when she woke up, it's gone.

Should she ask him? But she feels really hesitant and didn't end up asking.

Perhaps.......it should be alright........because the most important person is staying by her side.

Because of the familiar taste, she's really enjoying herself when she's eating. And his mind would be lost be staring at her delighted face.

She really looks happy......if he knew this, he should have brought her back here long ago even though it's just simple things like eating.

To be honest, she's still very much like her human self. After bringing her around the human world, he realizes that she still acts like a human.

After observing for some times, she doesn't possess any special powers like other demons do. Disregarding her fate as Samjang, all she has is her lotus blood. She did not become any stronger despite having his blood inside her.

So, she's still like a human, just like the Jin Seon Mi he used to love.

Would she get bored for accompanying him though?

With immortality, are demons just prisoners of time?

She got up to get his favorite tteoboki. Watching her figure, he begins to space out again.

This, was the first place they met after that 25 years.

This.......was also the place where they visited when she tries to wake up his memories when she was a ghost.

Time is cruel and peculiar. Back then, all he wanted to do was to eat her. But, when he became her family, friend, and lover, he experienced emotions he's never experienced before. When he eats spicy tteoboki with a human, chatting away casually was also something he never experienced before. And.........when she became a ghost and when he lost his memories, he used to threaten to make all the tteoboki disappear from the world.........
