Three bets part 4

"Back to earth~" She waves the spoon in front of him, interrupting his train of thought.

It's springtime and General Winter's ice cream shop is getting more business.

He lifts his head, focusing his gaze on her as she happily eats the ice cream,

"How come I feel like you are enjoying the ice cream more than my company?"

She's speechless at his words, she scoops a spoonful and offers it to him. He opens his mouth to eat it but pretend that he didn't like it.

"Do you like it?" She asks with a smile on her face.

"I'll buy you more in the future."

"Wow, this is incredible. You are already spoiling you man as soon as you found a job."

His heart feels sweet. He then suddenly remembered something and takes it out from his pocket.

He unwraps it, revealing a pair of beautiful notebooks and 2 pens that are bound by red thread.

"This is......."

"Present." He untangles on of the pen and places it in front of her with one of the notebooks.

"Jin Seon Mi, congratulation on getting a job."

She plays around with the pen and notebook with curiosity. Because it's very small, she can easily fit them in her pocket. They look like stationary high school students would use.

"Thank you! I really like it!" She accepts them merrily.

The smile deepens on Son Oh Gong's face.

This silly woman probably doesn't know what this is........

"It is called......love diary." His lips curve into a charismatic smile,

"But I didn't buy this. It's Ma Wang's present to the both of us."

He opens his diary, using the pen, he writes a sentence inside.

"Jin Seon Mi. open your diary."

She opens her diary, surprised to find something inside.

-Jin Seon Mi, you have ice cream on the corner of your mouth.-

Realization shows on her face, she quickly writes something in her diary.

-Son Oh Gong, is the ice cream delicious?-

She then peeks at his diary.

As expected, that sentence also appears in his diary.

This is amazing!

"Let's write more!" She says to him excitingly, face lit with expectation.

He quickly puts it away in his pocket, feeling bashful,

"No more, no more! The ice cream's going to melt!"

She continues to examine the diary with amazement.

"Miss Jin Seon Mi, this is not an ordinary diary." General Winter approach with a smile on his face.

"This is one of Yue-Lao's divine item of love."

(NOTE: Yue-Lao in Chinese myth is the god of love/matchmaking/marriage. He usually appears as an old man.)

He creates some water with a spell and splashes it onto the diary. But the paper on the diary is very extraordinary, it's not affected by the water at all.

"The diary by default will recognize the first person who writes in it as its owners, then their hearts and feelings will link." General Winter explains.

"It's extremely difficult to destroy this item. But, if the feelings of the person that write the words no longer exist, the diary will vanish on its own."

"I can't believe Ma Wang will give us something like this." The great sage grumbles. He crosses his arms and says,

"Jin Seon Mi, why are you getting excited like a high school girl?"

She's getting embarrassed and quietly puts away her copy of the diary, determined to study this dairy further when she gets home.

General winter observes the happy duo, he smiles as he busies himself and serves other customers.

The great sage's heart softens as he looks at Jin Seon Mi who has resumed in indulging herself with ice cream.

"I'll give you one week to get used to working. But make time for me next week Friday after work." He sits closer to her.

"Why?"

She lifts her face as he stretches his hand, wiping at the corner of her mouth, and then.......he puts the finger next to his lips and licks it.

"Taste good."

Her face immediately burns.

He.....he....out in broad day light......

"Well, we are going to look at wedding dresses." He replies casually.

"and also think about where we are holding the wedding." He stops for a moment, carefully avoid bringing up Ma Wang's hotel.

Let 's not talk about that place. After all, that place......

She looks at him for a moment and then quickly ducks her head.

"..............Alright." She replies in a faint voice.

As expected, he can see the shyness that she's trying to hide away.

It's a unique feeling. Sometimes, even he doesn't know what to do when she gets shy and timid. Maybe because of her previous life, she was not very good at expressing herself. But he can tell that innerly, she's an extremely adorable girl.

Sometime she's clumsy, sometime she's serious, sometime she's shy, sometime she's brave. He adores every single one of those moments.

He feels like he's falling more and more for her........and he loves it.

For thousands of years, he was always by himself. He finally understood the desire to start a family and understand the love and pain Ma Wang went through for Nachalnyeo. He was finally able to find out his goal and obsession and what it means to regain something that was lost.

"Maybe because of how romantic we are, the ice cream is melting really fast today?" He teases.

As expected, she burst out laughing at his remark.
