Chapter 25

“It’s time to meet the people who made this training possible.” Sabi nung secretary as she approaches us, “Yesterday, you five are selected. And I congratulate you for that.” We smiled and thank her, pero di pa pala siya tapos. “So I will be leading you into a room and there you will be meeting the people behind this project.”

She started walking and we follow her from behind until we approached a room. She held onto the doorknob and look at us, “Goodluck”

Pumasok agad ung mga kasama ko as soon as the secretary opens the door, things are happening so fast that I don’t think I fit here. I need a job but instead nandito ako, nakikijoin sa kung ano man ang meron dito.

“Having second thoughts?” Asked the secretary. Nagulat ako kasi nandun pa pala siya, I smiled and nod. “You know you’ve made this so far. This will be the last stage, this is the time to determine your fate. Kung do you have what it takes to be a designer? Or just find a job that can sustain you? It’s now or never.” She patted my shoulder and smiled at me.

Tama siya. I’ve made this far myself and tatapusin ko to. So I walk into the room, without second thoughts. The other four contestants are standing in a line in front of the judges/producers/or whatever you call them, and so I joined them, facing the judges. Well actually not facing since nakayuko ako the whole time.

“Look at that guy, he is so hot.” Stacy whispers to Hannah. I wish sana whisper lang yun kasi naiirita ako sa tono ng boses niya, kalandian na may halong kaartehan.

“Too bad he’s looking at the girl beside me.” Hannah responses and tinignan nila ako. Napatingin ako sakanila with confusion all over face. Hannah leans closer and whispers, “One of the judges is into you, he can’t stop looking at you the moment you walk in to this room.”

Natawa ako sa sinabi ni Hannah, yung tawang ‘Yeah whatever wag ako ang pagtripan niyo kasi di ako uto uto’. Iniangat ko ang ulo ko to look at the judges, and holy crap.

Hindi ako makagalaw. Tinignan ko lang siya as he stared back at me. What is he doing here? Don’t tell me isa siya sa mga judges? Oh wait. Remember nung interview, I think I know kung kanino ung familiar voice na nagligtas saakin because I was not paying attention to the judge na makailang beses na pala akong tinatawag, it’s his voice. Ba’t ngayon ko lang yun naisip? Ughh

He smiled and I’m still surprised to see him.

“I think we owe you an introduction of who we are. I’m Steve Johnson, the Human Resource Manager.” Sabi nung isa sa mga judges.

Sunud-sunod silang nagpakilala hanggang sa turn niya. 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 15 seconds has passed pero wala pa ring word na lumalabas sa bibig niya.

“He is Mr. Alden Richards, our head manager, and also the son of the owner.” Sabi ni Mr. Johnson na siya ring unang nagpakilala.

So he’s the owner’s son? As in Beth Cruz’s son? This is insane. This is unbelievable. Ba’t hindi ko un nahalata? They have the same eyes and the dimples. Oh just kill me now, it’s embarrassing.
